Hiatus Over! / Status Update

EDIT: The curse of Glen has struck again, and now the Tick CTMUG episode is coming next week, not next weekend. But onward and upward nonetheless.

Hey all.

Thank you for sticking around during my little podcast hiatus / mental health meltdown / what I am generously referring to as a vacation. Whatever this was, it was badly needed, and I am ready to resume production on Gayest Episode Ever. I think for now we will be releasing new main feed episodes on a biweekly basis, just so that in the off weeks we can work on Patreon-specific stuff including the long-delayed Fox Files miniseries.

Glen is in the Ninjago writer’s room this week, but I am aiming to record a Cartoons That Made Us Gay in time to go live this weekend. It’s going to be on the first version of The Tick, and it’s either the episode “That Mustache Feeling” or “The Tick vs. Arthur,” depending on which one calls to me most upon reviewing. Either way, it will be a good setup for our second regular episode, which will be about The Venture Bros., which will follow our first return episode, which will be about… Schitt’s Creek. Finally! But it’s not the one you’re expecting, unless you followed a certain convo in the GEE Discord.

I don’t know that we will permanently be on a biweekly basis from here on out, but this is the plan for now.

This should not affect you if you’re listening on the Patreon feed, but another change to the podcast will be that we’re trying out a new ad service from Libsyn, our hosting service. I have no idea what it’s like, but we’re only trying it out. If it’s awful or too much work given the payoff, we won’t be doing it for long.

And finally, a question: How valuable is it to you to get the regular weekly episodes one week early? I ask because Patreon is now offering an option to sync our regular, public feed with the one here. What this would do would make it so you could conceivably get one unified feed on here that anyone could subscribe to, but to get the exclusive episodes you’d have to support us. It would be handy for us, financially speaking, because it’s easier to get someone already on the free feed to upgrade than it is to get a whole new subscriber here, and it would be marginally less work for me. But I don’t want to do that if it’s meaningful to anyone already here to get the regular episodes early. Sound off in the comments!
