We're meant to laugh at him and maybe even with him– Packer is chaotic and worse than the worst version of ourselves. No matter how virtuous or compassionate or honest and kind any of us may truly be, we all have a little Todd Packer energy roaming around in our juiceboxes. That's simply the human condition. We can hold two thoughts at once– More even. We can allow our tiny, chaotic, uninformed jerk (our Todd Packer) to laugh along with Packer while acknowledging (to ourselves) why he sucks. It's cognitive dissonance on a small scale, but I think everyone experiences this. Not necessarily relating to Todd Packer, but with some show, movie, book, or character...something. I think recognizing it and extending a little grace to ourselves and to others is key.
