Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Comments

You should have watched the TOS episode Space Seed first—it introduces Khan.

Michael Tuffin

he would LOVE Firefly!!!!! ....just the kind of characters he enjoys 🤎

Gina Houston

Leo star trek 3 is titled the search for spock so going have watch it

Chuck M

Now you can really understand Galaxy Quest…

Mr. Tito

I just want to say these last two Star Trek reactions have been the best I’ve ever seen. Most reaction channels just give a base level assessment, they don’t really engage with what’s going on or care about characters and story. You set the bar high sir easily best reactor in the game.

Vito

wyaaaaaa

EZ

Yooo im a bit late to the party, but thank you for taking this Star Trek trip bro. You are the 🐐 man

Vito

We here! I'm really glad you're getting into Star Trek! I was raised on the original series and fell in love with The Next Generation, in high school. The 2009 reboot is ACTION PACKED, GREAT CAST, AMAZING EFFECTS, and it's got a lot of humor, too. I really hope you watch it.

Violet

@MrVideo Leo Star Trek was a weekly show back in the 1960s. I’m not sure if YouTube has the series of television shows they were so campy and you got to know each and every character from when they were really young and after they were canceled Jean Rotenberry, the creator of Star Trek weekly series went on to make the movies there are several movies. If you want to do a deep dive on your own try and search for Jean rotten berries, Star Trek movie series. You will see how far they came from a low budget, very low technology, very entertaining weekly show, and how each, and every one of your favorite characters have developed such strong and powerful relationships. As Spock would say, “live long and prosper.”

Laura Thate

Plus you knew who Spock was so you at least already have a general star Trek knowledge.

D-Matrix

I was one of those that said it wasn't the best intro to Star Trek, but while watching it again and getting into it and realizing you're locked in, my bad 🤷🏿‍♂️. I retract my previous comments. Carry on with the next Star Trek Adventure. 🖖🏿

D-Matrix

Variety is what I meant is good. But not back to back identical.

A_95

And while you're still in the space mood... the 1 season long firefly show and serenity movie (space/ cowboy/ swearing in Chinese). You'll be happy you finally did.

Greg

Watch 'airheads'. See if you can spot Lemmy.

Greg

That's a lot of the stuff he watches, for me. But because he has a big audience, he has to vary it up. You can't expect everything or even half of what he watches to interest you. I'm happy if 20% of what he watches is of interest to me.

Violet

Or you can eat shit. Those movies are fun and you don't get to decide what is or isn't Trek.

Violet

Starfleet not using the Genesis Device as a strategic advantage against the other galactic powers is why I really love the Star Trek universe. It's "humanity" at its best. The franchise always delves into the society and government comprehending such things, debating, and come to a real consensus on the consequences of their actions on a galactic scale. Most people in this era of the United Federation of Planets didn't believe in God. Still, their society understood it's probably not a good idea to be a God.

Chaos T

I don't remember their name but that psychotic individual from the episode "Paradise" sticks out in the level of villainy and f'd up stuff from that series. DS9 has phenomenal single-story villains alongside extremely hateworthy series long villains.

Chaos T

Co-signed, Gul Dukat, Kai Wynn, the whole Dominion...

Filby Pott

Their hairstyles and faces matched, not going to comment on the other bits 😂.

Cayley

Speaking of villains, DS9 has S tier villains that surpass genres of live action fiction. They rank high on the villainy factor even compared to great antagonists like Gustavo Fring. My favorite Star Trek series.

Chaos T

Mr. Rourke?!! Who knew?!!! How about Fantasy Island as a series??!! 🤔 BTW - 12hrs later I'm STILL tryna get past 45 minutes! 😂

Felicia Wiggins

Khan's pecs vs. Bowie's "area"

Filby Pott

The Genesis Device is kinda like the Death Star of Star Trek, if it created a whole new planet after blowing one up

Filby Pott

Yesss

Dry Ooze

Glad you were able to enjoy these movies without having seen the original series. Especially since Wrath of Khan is a direct sequel to an episode from the '60s. They do a great job getting you up to speed and introducing you to the characters. Khan is one of the best villains in the entire series. It'd be cool if you watch The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine after the first six movies. (Voyager and Enterprise... not so much.)

Filby Pott

Thank you so much leo, hope you're enjoying these movies, they opened up my imagination as a kid and threw me into a new sci fi world, it was so good, still is! I was just thinking, incase you didnt know, a "Neutral Zone" people mention in star trek is an area of space that two warring sides decide to use as a no entry zone in order to maintain "peace" if either side enters this zone it can provoke war or at the least a conflict!

SpicyRikers

Also, hit up The Bourne Supremacy while your memory of the first film is still fresh. No spoilers but the fresher the memories- the better film 2 will be for you! Cheers!!

James Therian

The Undiscovered Country is probably my favorite movie of the original six. It's one of the best scifi films of the 90's imo.

Chaos T

Thank you for the reaction, Leo. I’m going to always sub to your Patreon and appreciate you, but my man, there are so many movie franchises and shows that you enjoyed that aren’t done. Thanks again for the upload and hope you’re well.

mrcinsc

I really liked Leo's point about the era of special effects. For its time, the effects were pretty groundbreaking. The ship models and sets in these films have always been good. In fact, Star Trek Wrath of Khan was one of the first if not the first to implement a completely computer-generated cinematic image (CGI) in film. The Genesis explaination sequence must have been mind-blowing seeing it in theaters for the first time. It's also interesting George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic studio created the Genesis scene for the film and the was the first time that studio using CGI. It's really cool the Star Trek franchise had a role in ILM being the go-to studio for special effects and Star Wars VFX. https://www.historyofinformation.com/detail.php?id=3141

Chaos T

So much to finish…

mrcinsc

Glad you're getting into Star Trek. It's a rich franchise with tons of great lore to investigate, great characters, and great character interactions. The franchise is interesting in that while it's bread and butter is the various television series, its movies are very consistently good compared to other scifi franchises. I don't see a lot of hate or dislike for the movies that we see in some franchises. For the most part they're all enjoyable and entertaining. The TV shows are worth a watch though understandable if you don't get into them because there's so many series and episodes. Still, I think the Trek heads here can get together and come up with a list of important episodes so you can soak in the deep lore and great storytelling. EDIT: Also, rewatching this with Leo, I had forgotten how overpowered the Genesis Device was. Might be one of the most overpowered technology things in film. I'm 100% in line with Dr. McCoy's fear of that technology. Federation tech is crazy.

Chaos T

people said always sunny was too long a series to do. star trek got like 1000 episodes. lets fucking go.

Ashley

chris pine can eat shit. that garbage is not trek!

Ashley

generations after undiscovered country

Silly Uncle Andy Farmer

Hey leo you should try out The Maze Runner series, or The Hunger games series. Also Rise, Dawn, war and kingdom of the planet of the apes are all really good!!

JaimeCorona

♥ I hope Leo watches Star Trek 2009 after The Undiscovered Country.

Jennifer James (wtfwebgoddess)

A_95

Found it hard not to think of David Bowie in Labyrinth when Khan was on the screen 😅.

Cayley

KHAAAAAAANNNNNNNN

Mega

I can't get jiggy with this.

The Joy

How’s the dog I forgot the name

Dry Ooze

@EZ The Boys S4 and Gen V reactions have performed pretty decently on all the channels I’ve watched them on and were both enjoyable seasons overall imo, the main point is that they’re both shows you’d expect him to react to if relevant/trending content mattered to him in the slightest

HashKetchum

Back to back OG Star Trek movies? Leo must be smoking some serious 🔥 😆 Cheers!!

James Therian

I know most people forgot by now but there was a vote for the next show and unfortunately daredevil didn't win. No word on when the next show starts but-he's just listening to the people on this one.

James Therian

Bruh its made me really happy lol thanks xD

SpicyRikers

They used to have The Star Trek Experience in Vegas which was like a whole set up where you could ride the enterprise and actually be chased by Klingon and all this other cool shit. Closed permanently though :(

Jeffery Bezos

@HashKetchum we can ignore the boys and gen z those were flops lmao especially for views, to much censoring etc

EZ

Leos really gotta be consistent with the one series I don't give a damn about 😮‍💨glad you star trek heads are eating good though

EZ

Consistency on fire Still holding out hope for the greatest movie of all time INCEPTION

CHROME DeePo

Are you going to watch the new Star Trek reboot movies with Chris Pine??

Everything Everywhere All At Once

The inner machinations of Leo's mind are an enigma...

Jeffery Bezos

We here for this 😂 , watched a lot of Star Trek and yes it’s 1979 some things maybe a little cheesy today but back then it was amazing effects, keep enjoying it the way you want to enjoy it Leo, enjoy your week 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓨𝓸𝓾 💕🫶🏻💕🐐

Rhoda J

I need to know how bro brain works lol. I remember him acknowledging someone's comment of the boys new season and then us never getting it

GameGod

Hi Leo ❤️.

Cayley

You would think so, but he’s made it pretty clear he doesn’t care to watch things while they’re trending to maximize views/subs lol i.e. The Boys, Gen V, HotD, the list goes on and on… Deadpool & Wolverine has been the lone exception

HashKetchum

I just wanna see the new ones lol

Drip Drop

Watch Bait (2000) Jamie Foxx

Tremain

the ending always hurts all the more now that Leonard is really gone

Alice Delgado

Love the OG Star Trek, I was raised on it and Spock was my first crush! I REALLY HOPE you watch the 2009 reboot. It is a standalone trilogy that DOESN'T TAKE ANYTHING away from the original. But it's got a great story, AMAZING cast, and TONS of action!!

Violet

Just saying, but daredevil comes out in 2 weeks and you haven’t started episode 1. You gotta start getting ahead on new seasons of things

GameGod

The Wedding Singer! It's one of the last great Adam Sandler movies left.

RTF

Always grateful for the content but damn, there’s so many sequels and series we haven’t gotten to finish and instead we’re getting back to back Star Trek drops? Lmao

HashKetchum

Didn’t watch the first one not watching this one and won’t be watching the next one love you Leo💙

Dylan Channell

Ok...idk what's gotten into you. But keep it coming! lmao

Silas Kane

Up next in some movie franchises: Scream 2 (1997) Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World (1997) A Quiet Place Part 2 (2020) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) plz and thanks bro

dmh killah

Cmon now
