2024-12-13 00:58:23 +0000 UTCthere was humor in the overall scene but the choice to cut to a child being shot was not meant to be laughed at in the sense we're laughing at the kid getting shot. just that half a second was meant to shock us into reality, then they bring us back with comedy. of course i get dark humor but that seemed like a specific artistic choice they made, knowing rob's politics it makes sense he wanted to push the envelope there

You don't have to find everything funny, but calling out some shock humour and ignoring or laughing at the rest of it is just silly. There are things that a few others will find offensive that you don't even think twice about laughing at.

If they would've left with charlie getting shot it would've been hilarious or maybe even Dee getting shot but the black kid part a trip...I'm keep watching it wit my boy but that shit was crazy

In Old Black Man's dream they actually learn their lesson - I think it's their way of really showing you how fucked up it can be to be black in america - sure there's like some little differences and bigger differences that we can all laugh about - and like they were saying we have more in common than not - including fear. My PFP says fear is a serpent - and that's facts bby. But then there are these huge differences that can only be talked about blatantly and brutally. Made me sad too, bruh if I'm being honest I hate gun violence - esp when it's committed by cops!!! Charlie just wanted to be friends, and none of them cops cared. The heel clicking and the Scott Bacula in the mirror brought it back around for me tho with the laughs at least - but I'll be thinkin' about that one part a lot. Really makes you think.

In their podcast they mention how they regret saying the word retarded and tranny in the early seasons and I imagine they'll look back on this similarly even though they come from a place of showing and demonizing people that get a kick out of that they are still using it as humor In a way.
