2023-11-06 03:18:35 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of discussions about why Ymir would continue acting as a slave even after death, but my personal interpretation of it was that she CHOSE to die (by not healing herself) in that moment as her first EVER tiny act of rebellion, upon hearing that King Fritz still thought of her as nothing but a slave after all that time. And from her perspective, she was "punished" for that act of rebellion by being trapped in the paths. As such, mindless obedience would become the easiest alternative. It's not like she had any way to escape.

The entire world was going to come and wipe out ALL of Paradis, including innocent women and children. So rather than allow his people to be genocided, he pulled the old UNO REVERSE CARD. And then added a +4 to it.

Eren couldn't be here in the paths without zeke, nor could he be here with ymir, and more important if Eren wasn't here making these memories with zeke on zekes ghost of Christmas past magic journey, he'd never have had those memories to send to Grisha. Grisha was only seeing these memories in real time, Eren emotionally manipulating him into killing the founding, because Zeke brought him to be there presently in those memories. Like with most timey wimey related things it's always a mystery of what came first, chicken or the egg. We the viewer are bound to whatever we see, so is this how it was always meant to be? Is this reality in the show just one that happened because zeke brought eren to the paths? Was there a different version of history the viewer never saw
