Basically just always remember the rule "don't stop watching until you see the to be continued card"

Do episodes 5,6,7 all together and make sure you watch after the credits on episode 4

I’m so hyyyype for this season!!! It’s been amazing watching a long with you and really feeling for these characters. You replaying the last 15 seconds 3 times was like me the first time I saw this episode.

Eva

Also as for what was the point of that guy telling the kids the story before he hung himself. i THINK when teenage Bert/Reiner were being asked by our main group early on in season 1 what happened or why are they here, Bert told them THAT story. I think we even saw the same exact scene in as the flashback to Bert's story, the same scene we saw from this guys story where it's him looking out the window and a titan face is there. I could be wrong but it's not something I put together or thought about until now when you asked about it. It might warrant me going back and finding that scene in s1 or whenever it was, but in this episode when the flashback happened I was like ".... isn't this what we saw when bert told us his fake story"? or "where have i seen this before?"

We've also seen this long haired man in a previous episode, I dont think its a spoiler to mention it but in your previous reaction episode 2 at ~16:50 looking over the group of them talking at the docks

Do episodes 5,6,7 together please

Haven't read other comments. But the reason Annie was doing that is she's trying to discover the founder. She bumped into Kenny because he was close to the royal family. So Annie got really close. But they didn't know that the founder had been stolen already

Lol I love Annie. She doesn't buy any of that propaganda for a heartbeat. She doesnt give a shit and she knows all sides are full of crap and only care about themselves.

david ammerman

Reiner's family wasn't shook up because of the potato or anything. They were shook up because Reiner just described normal people which is a big no-no for him to say

david ammerman

Don't forget the after credit scene next episode :D

Can’t wait for more Swanii thanks for all your hard work🫶🏼🫶🏼

This episode is so great 😩😩 the next ones are even greater !! It just goes uphill from here. If you think your mind is blown now, just wait. Man I loved your reaction to seeing grown up Eren. A lot of people do recognize his VA even though he had to change it to a little deeper since he’s older. It’s funny to me that right around the time people are wondering “ where the hell is our MC Eren ?? “ and it’s like oh! here he is 😅 in plain sight unexpectedly. You see him twice before this but Isayama really know how to play ya!

This was a great response. I can't wait for Swanii to rewatch the series again. The 2nd watch was somehow better for me because of how much story is in there from S1 Ep1.

Eva

Yeah, what he said. The only reason all of this is confusing is because they tried to squeeze so much content into one episode and the scenes kept flashing from one to another in literally seconds.

Such a great episode with a whole new perspective. I had the same reaction while hearing Reiner’s inner monologue as the 12 year old armored Titan, so weird to think that overpowering force we see in episode 2 is just a kid struggling with his identity and situation. As far as the Annie/Kenny scene, she was looking for leads to the Founding Titan in a more discrete way than Reiner and Berthold, the fact that she made it to Kenny showed she was close. The man who told them the story who then hung himself, his reasons for doing so is up for interpretation, but if you go back to episode 3 of S1, Berthold uses details of his story verbatim for their cover since he left behind 3 kids around the same age. Lastly, yeah Reiner’s split personality makes so much sense now. As you were saying, he probably has such strong and mixed up feelings about Marcel telling him he wasn’t supposed to be chosen, and then feeling responsible for his death after getting saved by him. “Reiner is dead, if we need Marcel, then I’ll be Marcel.” From there on Reiner essentially emulates Marcel’s personality with anything related to being a warrior. If you remember in episode 2 of this season, Galliard actually gets irritated with Reiner upon seeing Ymir’s memories claiming, “I’d say you were imitating my brother!” It was rough seeing Reiner fully come to terms with what he’d done on Paradis, deciding to kill himself until he’s luckily saved by Falco. Those Warrior candidates are really the only thing that’s keeping him going. That was a good callback you made to the scene where he saw the flash of his warrior group juxtaposed with Gabi/Falco//Zofia/Udo. Anything to prevent them from suffering the same way he did is all he thinks he’s got left. Can’t wait for more!

Annie was tailing Kenny because she was trying to get info on where the founding is. Kenny happens to have connections with the founding titan so it ended up bringing her to him somehow. The dude that hung himself told bert the story before killing himself, bert speculates he wanted to be judged. This times perfectly with Reiner almost unaliving himself. Also, Bert uses this story as their cover / backup story. The guy says that he left behind 3 kids around their age. They tell this story to Eren and Armin while on the top bunk and it uses the same frames when its being told both times, subbing Bert for the guy.

Nah man, get some rest 🤣 I deadass just finished it. Lol 6 AM here and I’m SO tired. We can watch it when we wake up lmao
