Cat Breed Guide: Egyptian Mau!

Hello my Garfields! It's Monday and its time for a cat breed guide, hope that's not a big shock to you all... My week is off to a very peculiar start, yesterday and unknown assailant trashed my apartment's shared basement, poured juice all over the washers and dryers, cut the wires to all the security cams, and cut the wire to JUST my internet and ONLY my internet. I'm calling this badman the Juicler, and they're keeping me from watching animes, which I'm pretty sure is a war crime. Please give a thought and or prayer that the spectrum-man can heal my broken wires today!! Nevertheless, no one can stop me from drawing a cat, no matter how hard they may try, so I'm uploading this with my cellphone's hotspot. Technology sure is amazing!!

AAAANYWAYS! This week's breed was suggested by Sara Perrella, Fishface, and Bel Tamtu! You guys really appreciate the classics. I was excited for this one! Ancient history is probably the coolest subject, besides bear facts and dark matter. Did you know? One of the oldest cat names recorded was an Egyptian Mau named 'nedjem' or 'nedjemet', which translates to something like "Sweetie." We haven't changed a bit!

Comments

I adopted a Mau as one of my first acts as an independent adult. I once read a breed profile that said they "make a variety of noises", which I learned in time was the equivalent of a dog rescue saying a pup is "spirited". I would have to apologize to everyone waiting at the vet to let them know that yes that screaming noise was my cat, and no she was not being tortured, she's just Dramatic. She loved me with the fury of the sun and barely tolerated every other living creature on Earth. She lived 24 years, a legend.

Eep! Hope your Internet gets restored quickly! Who pours juice everywhere? And cuts off Internet? Sheesh!
