Nightmare Chi
or also Night Chi

This type of Chi is the most dangerous and scariest type of Chi there is. They have red eyes that glow in the dark; as soon as you see something like this, run for your life and start praying. Because if you look in too long, you might become possessed. They are pitch black or dark gray and carry a dark smoke cloud. This allows them to fly through objects. Their skin is cold and rough.

Little information is available about them, as the people who researched them all died, committed suicide, or went insane. These Chi's are impossible to tame. They only spare you if you don't show fear. Fear? Right, as soon as you get scared, you're already dead. These Chi's feed on fear and become stronger as a result. But it is almost impossible not to be afraid. Because these Chi's show you your biggest fears. You fall into a trance and see, hear and feel things that don't actually exist around you. But for you, it's a reality and slowly eating you up. This is how they lure you out of groups into the dark. That's why you should never go near them or out as soon as it gets dark. But some scientists provoke it to find out more about this species. These Chi's are more aggressive towards humans since humans are easier to break.

Nightmare Chi's can enter your memory and learn everything about you: fears, traumatic experiences, losses, everything. They use that to drive you insane. However, these Chi's have been observed to be vulnerable during the day. Because the sun's rays are uncomfortable for them, it's almost painful. If you help such a Chi during the day, it will likely spare you at night. It turns out it's better to research these Chi's during the day, but be careful not to do it in dark places. As soon as it is dark, for example, they will attack you in a cave. Still... the scientists who studied these Chi's in broad daylight were found dead the following day.

Building trust with such Chi is difficult, but it is easier when surrounded by other types of Chi's, especially "Space Guardian Chi's." This will also make you less of a target at night. However, other Chi species are suspicious of them, flying away or hiding.
