Release Version 0.6.2 Update
Hello Patrons and followers, I am thrilled to share Foundry Virtual Tabletop release version 0.6.2, a stable update on the Release channel which is available to all Foundry Virtual Tabletop license holders. The Release channel contains updates which should be stable and ready for widespread consumption by all Foundry users.
This update focuses on bug fixes and user experience adjustments that improve the release 0.6.0 version. The bulk of the changes included in this version are from the Beta 0.6.1 Update but there are some additional adjustments, features, and fixes which are included in 0.6.2. If you have not yet read the Beta 0.6.1 Release Notes, I recommend starting there.
Since the scope of changes for this update was relatively small, there is not a Twitch developer stream associated with update 0.6.2, but stay tuned for more live-stream content coming up as I begin working on the 0.7.x generation of updates!
Please take some time to read Version 0.6.2 Release Notes on the official website:
Version 0.7.x Patreon Poll Results
Patreon supporters were invited to participate in a Version 0.7.x Feature Prioritization poll to choose one of the major features which would become a focus for the next Foundry release cycle. The poll and the options are available here. https://www.patreon.com/posts/37561432
The results are in, and the core feature which will be developed for 0.7.x is Active Effects System (Phase 1). Active Effects will provide an official structure and mechanism for Actors to be modified by temporary effects which change their attributes. The Active Effects system will provide an official API framework for tracking duration-based or item-based effects that can be easily added or removed from an affected Actor. Please note that this is just Phase 1 because the Active Effects system is a very large feature and not all of it's components will be built right away.
The framework established for Active Effects will allow for game system developers to define mechanical conditions which can affect Actors within their game system - these conditions (the Active Effects) will flexibly modify the attributes of that Actor on a temporary basis. Effects will be "timed" - at first according to the rounds and turns of the Combat tracker, but eventually (in phase 2) this will also support timing based on an in-game world clock.
I'll be excited to roll out the first version of the Active Effects system for early Alpha channel testing (hopefully) by the end of June.

Lastly, I am pleased to share that a new content pack is now available by Adventure Music who compose original instrumental music for tabletop role-playing games. With the module installed, you can import any of the four Playlists that the module provides into your world and they will be available immediately for use in a game session. I encourage everyone who might be looking for some new musical themes to spice up their gameplay to check it out!

I did music in a game I'm running for the first time this past Wednesday and it was pretty sweet. I still don't know what the heck I'm doing, but my players seemed to like it. : D

2020-06-10 05:10:22 +0000 UTCThe exclusive content is an exciting addition. I've been mulling over the idea of adding audio and music to my game, but have been intimidated by the prospect of sourcing it. This sort of content should make that task a lot simpler.
