The Finalie of Sydney and a Recap

Greetings all, and welcome to the final words about Sydney, The Perfect Companion. This project has been in the works for a very long time, beginning a year after my first GBWA posts during covid, when I was ambitious and unstructured in my scheduling. I wanted multiple stories, different comics and characters, without understanding the time commitment that comes with it all.

I began writing the story in roughly 2021 but only in my spare time and when inspiration hit. Thankfully, I knew the plot as a whole would be divided up into three parts, (three bodies in a way) one for each stage of Sydney and Alan's relationship. I bit the bullet and posted the first part in the first month of 2023 above, hoping that would motivate me to get the story out of the drafts folder and into the real world. It's a benefit of sharing work-in-progress stories, I must say, the motivation of people's expectations and personal promises can do well to push something forward. It however, doesn't change the fact that time constrictions and priorities can get in the way. And so two months in, I took a one and a half year break from writing Sydney until I was better equipped with the schedule we have now. A three-week rotation for GBWA related comics and a fourth week that allows 'free' use, for vacations, alternate stories or maintenance.

I ended up finishing Sydney off at a Cafe in June, writing to my heart's content with the right conditions presenting a proper ending. It's the first story I've 'finished', which as a 'growth' oriented writer is hard to do. We want more height, more size, bigger muscles and surely not a stopping point, but it must finish eventually.

I advise you treat this as a novel, 131 pages is certainly an achievement I'm proud of. Someday soon I'll have a roadmap out of what the rest of the year looks like, Trio Trouble the next story I'm giving proper effort to. When we do hear about my plans, it will include a store and a PDF release of Sydney, likely with a revision that cuts the 57 chapters down to a more sensible 25~
