Hayley's at Glorious Pizza again! Working there, not visiting for lunch. I enjoyed the little flashback, even if it was just a few weeks prior, as it establishes a bit of a follow-up even within one journal.

In the prior month, Blossom offered a job to Hayley. “Look, I’ll be honest. I’m not sure that I want to run my Mom’s business after she retires but that aside we’re low on staff and could use help. You’re looking for a job, right? How about you come back to Glorious for a couple months for some tips and cash while you search?”

“…I’ve felt bad Roger’s been footing the bill to keep my savings high, so I owe it to him to accept. When do I start?”

Hayley ended up starting that evening and soon was back in the fold working with Gloria Bloom and Blossom Bloom at their pizzeria. Leaning on the counter a month later, Hayley sighs as the evening begins. “I’ve got to admit, it’s the slow days that kill it for me. At least the shift goes by fast on the weekends…”

Gloria chuckles. “Dear, business was worse before you came back. I’ve got to thank you for the uptick in foot traffic, you’ve really outdone yourself these past few years.”

“Outdone…myself?” Hayley puzzles. Gloria clasps her hands together.

“You’ve grown, dear! Gosh, didn’t think you’d get bigger than when you visited with that man of yours, but surprise surprise. I have to apologize for not having a bigger uniform, I can’t imagine you’re comfortable-“

“It’s okay.” Hayley interjects. “I don’t mind and I don’t plan on staying too long. This is just a favor for Blossom.”

Gloria and Blossom both acknowledge that the former wants to retire. It’s not on Hayley’s shoulders however to decide who takes over after that happens. Either Blossom inherits the place and all it’s burdens or Gloria sells to an outside party. Hayley is inwardly grateful to have a job again though, one that’s fairly stress free this time around. Patrons tipped far more than they used to and rude comments that she received all those years ago are nonexistent in the present.

Towering over a patron, Hayley can still be oblivious to her scale at times. “Is the food good, sir?” She asks the man below. Attention drifting to the bar, Hayley talks over the man’s response.

“Yes, it’s very, very-“

“What? Blossom, I’ll be there in a moment. Sorry, did you need another beer?”

“Ah… Y-yes ma’am. I mean Miss…” Afterward, Hayley was surprised to find yet another generous tip.
