These images are a spoiler in a way, but you'll understand this Sunday when week 2 of Halloween 2027 drops.
TLDR: Old scenes are unoptimized and take a while to render.
So Halloween takes place in Madelyn's house, a set from not too long ago but still a set from a time when I didn't know how to build scenes with proper backgrounds or lighting. At least it was a built background, roping together ENTIRE neighborhoods rather than nothing at all. It wasn't an issue back then because my rendering process happened on CPU anyway, so it was slow as hell. These days, I output more alternate angles and make scenes usually saturday/sunday because GPU rendering is very fast. That means it's awkward to be forced to go back to 10 hour render times.
The scene this week, either from the neighborhood, lighting, props or 9 characters took a while to render. Every night was loaded with render time, which tells me that I can't go back to CPU rendering. I'll start saving for a better GPU that can handle more, as 12 gigs of ram has apparently gotten me this far but isn't enough for a situation like this.
Now, obviously moving forward I'll be sure to use tricks I've accrued to keep making optimized scenes, 'instances' of props rather than duplicating the entire thing, ghostlights instead of trying to make the actual prop's lights work, etc.
But all this is a long way of saying your usual Thursday Alternates will be delayed until Friday or Saturday, but Sunday's post should still be on-time. Enjoy Claryssa, I sure did. Cya!
