That’s encouraging! I imagine the next time she makes an appearance in AGVsG will shed more light on both her current practice regime and relationship with Tomokazu (and if we’re lucky his efforts to push himself into training for her sake)!

No worries, everything should come together and make sense at the end! :-)

According to the profile pics and the recent Sanctuary posts (which hopefully continue, as I imagine there is more than one underwater prayer site), Saki is already a Shrine Maiden, which isn’t completely outlandish considering her performance. I do wonder though, as an apprentice maiden, who taught her the necessary skills? Moreover, there’s a decided lack of information regarding her practice for the role; we don’t know what she does or how with regard to training. Based on the Jim Liesman posts supported by savaster, she routinely explores shipwrecks, but is that really it? Would that really be enough, even if it were a daily ritual, to push the young Maiden from a 7:41 breathhold without exhaling to over ten (with the last four minutes at least running on residual lung volume alone) in just one year? While she is gifted, she’s not yet at the level of the Grand Priestess, who sleeps and eats as much as she wants without suffering ill effects towards her diving, so we know that Saki must have some kind of regimen. By the end of AGVsG, we can only trust there won’t be such piecemeal evidence surrounding one of the four main divers of this series and others to come.
