After Show: The first iPod Headphones

I have the second generation ones but, they've been trashed as well, like you said they've been through the wash like three times and bits of the plastic are falling off, have used them if I cant find any others laying around my house.

i got a ipod mini box and they came with a sealed set of those ear buds and the cloth bits was the exact same lol

All the memories of first gen, second gen, and ear pods rushing to my head lol. Good to remember those days

I really don't get how someone likes the sound of any earpods. The current ones are just bad compared to almost any cheap plugs/IEMs. Sub bass? In earpods? I dunno, gonna try them again, but I don't remember there being any bass at all and almost no highs.

If you ever do go through apple earbuds, they did make some fancier ones. https://in.pcmag.com/headphones-1/16594/apple-in-ear-headphones I found a pair in some parking lot in middle school and they were kinda ok.

Did you ever find a pair of the second gen earbuds you were talking about in the end? Because I know I have a brand new pair still wrapped that came with my iPod Touch 4th gen

I remember the 2nd gen earbuds having the tendency to always start dying in 1 ear and not the other resulting in a terrible inbalance.

Yea those ares are "okay", pretty flat sounding but wayy better than these ones!

IMO they were fine but super uncomfortable after an hour or two. Everything after was a nice improvement. I HATE the lightning connector though. Super unreliable if I'm out for walk. Can't even try running with them. Nowadays I prefer my Sony WH-1000XM3 when in public and Sennheiser HD280PRO at home.

The second-gen earbuds are still burned in my mind from my 4th gen iPod touch. I remember the sound not being too bad, but they were insanely uncomfortable (for my ears at least), and they fell out constantly. Eventually they suffered from the same internal wire break issue that seems to claim most earbuds. Much prefer modern EarPods.

I actually gave away some second gen headphones a few months ago :-( . Wish i didnt as I would have hapily sent them to you!

As a person who does not own any 'real' Apple products i do love the earpods. I can't stand the silicon tip thingies so i always have 3 pairs on hand in case Apple decides to retire the 3.5mm version

I remember using similar apple headphones but with foam thingy you put on them - and surprisingly that provided more bass! You had those things in package, but they seems to be destroyed over time))

Make sure you get authentic second gen earbuds if you buy from eBay, every time I’ve tried to buy them they end up being complete fakes. The giveaway is the plastic quality and the lack of branding on the cable.

i have not know the first apple one i haveknew the 2nd but they have break and i have switch it for a sony kit a the time now i use a fostex t50 rp mk 3 with the shure pad and xduoo ta-01b cheap and real good sounding desktop setup they make your voice sound good and that is great (troll)

I just bought a decent $15 pair from eBay. Although it's hard to find wired headphones nowadays.
