I like the way his first reaction to the news was run to the hospital all spiked up and angry as if he was ready to fight, but once he gets there it starts dawning that there is no fight-- there is nothing for him to do other than wait, and I think its a hard experience to proccess. Having a family member in the hospital isn't always about screaming and crying and dispair, but at least in my experience it's a lot of just... waiting around as the news sink in slowly.
