Pd.net migration update

Well we are on the new site comfortably. All of the orders on the old system were recovered by 5pm today. Today I integrated the new system into the backed, so we can do things like print postage and packing slips. I got the internal bar code system working (Something I've wanted for a long time.) and I'm working on confirmation e-mail copy that some of you might have seen the start of.

We have all candy for orders we've received, but we're about to use a new untested system so I expect our speed to improve in the next week or two, but not to be great tomorrow. Theoretically this should be much faster and cut labor from the old system, even if the printer seems slower.

Now off to record a podcast.

We can still access all your old order information but you can no longer. The old system as the new one does stores the passwords encrypted so we had no way to migrate them. You will have to start a new account I'm sorry about that.

Hey Greg, are the logins from the previous site also migrated? Or is our order history gone?

It helps that I built the database and I've worked with it for 10 years.

great work! impressed you were able to recover all the data and get things moving again so quickly.

Barcodes are super fun to work with lol. Back when I worked in the shipping department for a major warehouse, I'd scan a couple thousand barcodes per day. They're such an efficient system for product tracking.
