#41 Thoughts about the future of businesses due to COVID19 and Letters.

Greg muses on what history has taught us and does some predictions of what could change in society due to the universality of COVID19, he also reads letters, but weirdly does not talk much about candy.

Two in one day? Getting ahead again I hope.

Or for Fantasy - try Dennis L Mckiernan. I love his stuff, and if you read all his books theres a secret message you can find about our actual reality. I cant stand Piers Anthony. Im a chick and I got really sick of the sausage fest + most females are depicted as 'silly' and stupid. I prefer chicks like Murphy (from Dresden - Im a blinding fan although I think the latest novels kinda jumped the shark with Harry becoming a ghost and then the knight of winter etc.)

Ive noticed in areas like here in Cascadia where it hit us really hard - most people out wear a mask, we understand we got to stay closed, even if it hurts (of course, our state is also flooding everywhere with aid. I know about 6 people that have had this thing (not including myself, i think i had it in late Feb), and 2 people who have died. The death from it is horrible. You literally suffocate to death in your own body. And even the "mild form" is terrible. So, most of us get we need to stay closed. But in other places its turned into a political thing. Frankly, everyone who thinks we should reopen, youre a moron. The only reason its not bad in other places yet is because the epicenters were smart and locked down fast. Epidemiology is one of those things where of you do it right, it doesnt seem that bad, so people are mad at restrictions, and if you do it wrong people are mad because theres mass graves and death all over.

Be really careful with "compostable" plastic like stuff. We in Seattle found out some manufacturers put short chain dioxins in them to keep basically a paper cup from degrading from hot wet items in it. It poisoned one of our city compost bins with dioxins. Also, thats terrifying that they arent reporting deaths in Florida. You cant find what you dont look for.

p.s., we need a good name for "aging" something before you touch or use it. When I bring stuff home (or something is delivered), I set it aside (using hand protection) and label it with the date received. After 3 or 4 days, I figure it's safe to touch. Same process for stuff in fridge or freezer. Painter's tape is very handy for this.

thanks for the update. I am so happy to hear your thoughtful plans for now and the future. While I agree with you on the increased need for packaging, it doesn't all have to be plastic. There are compostable containers that can be used (and utensils made of wood or bamboo). also, when restaurants eventually reopen I would be happy to use ceramic/glass plates since they can easily be washed and sterilized.
