Podcasts. A question and a update.
Added 2019-08-16 00:24:38 +0000 UTCI originally planned to do one podcast a month maybe two if if I was lucky. so far I'm enjoying these and I've been doing one a week for the past 2 months.
I'd like to keep up this pace but since I tend to release videos on a Thursday I'm thinking about moving the release date for the podcast after next week's to another day of the week. I'm leaning towards Monday or Tuesday and it may not be consistent for a few weeks. What do you folks think about that?
I'm also thinking about the potential of releasing these to the public after a month or two. Would that devalue the value of this patreon page?
this is so experimental I still don't know where I'm going. But I'm enjoying doing it so far and I hope you are enjoying reading it.
thank you for your support you're making it easier for me to do the things that I like and you seem to as well.
So what about it? do you mind me changing the day of the week are released the podcasts? Do you think the podcast should stay patreon only? what do you think there's a period of time after which would be okay to release them to the public. And lastly I know I'm doing this patreon thing a bit different than others, but is it fun so far?

I enjoy witnessing your creativity and inspirations. You can’t lock yourself to a set schedule, it would kill your spontaneity, which is so fun to watch and hear. It would be a waste not to share it with your loyal public. You have a great talent and I’m enjoying all that you post. As others have said, I don’t do it for the rewards, I do it to say thanks for all the enjoyable videos and podcasts you’ve taken the time to produce. Looking forward to see what comes next.
2019-08-16 03:09:23 +0000 UTCOf course I will. The coupon code I posted for instance would not be something going out to the general public. I'm trying to give my patreon the step up from just being a customer
2019-08-16 01:47:36 +0000 UTCI support creators on Patreon more as a way to give back for all the free content they've shared in the past and continue to give. I don't really do it just for the rewards. Whatever schedule you decide for the podcast is fine, and I don't mind them going public. Maybe one once in a while that's just for us? :-)

2019-08-16 01:38:48 +0000 UTCDon't mind either way on the timing of things & by all means share the podcasts - spread the love! I'm enjoying all the things you're doing with patreon... I don't have a lot of expectations, I guess. I support creators that I appreciate on patreon because I want them to keep creating, not for anything extra, really. That said, I like the sense of connection extra content provides, whatever form it takes, usually.

2019-08-16 00:50:38 +0000 UTCThe day of the week you release the podcast is irrelevant to me; I think you should pick a frequency/date/schedule that you feel you can comfortably sustain. As far as releasing the podcasts to the public, I agree that delaying that will give folks more incentive to become patrons... but I don't have a good sense of what that delay should be, except that a month is probably a good starting point. And, you can always change it as you learn more and get a better sense of how it's going. thank you!

2019-08-16 00:43:11 +0000 UTCI can tell. They seem a bit mored relax from what I hear. Yeah I’m a person who would listen to your videos in the car driving somewhere before the podcast showed up. It’s nice to relax and listen to someone talk about what is interesting.
2019-08-16 00:40:28 +0000 UTCI've been enjoying producing the podcast. An average video takes about 10 hours to produce. It can take up to 15 and 16 it's never taken me less than six. A 30 minute podcast takes me about 40 minutes to make. I don't have to worry about color correction. I don't have to choose from multiple camera angles. Heck I don't have to set up tripods and put away the equipment. I'm actually finding it relaxing.
2019-08-16 00:35:20 +0000 UTCI believe that allowing others to have a chance to listen to the podcast doesn’t do that at all. It would be nice to have a podcast to listen to earlier in the week than a candy video on Thursday. I’ve been enjoying what you have been giving to those who contribute to you.
2019-08-16 00:33:45 +0000 UTCI've been calling them rabbit holes. But they may have a new name now.
2019-08-16 00:31:23 +0000 UTCFollow your bliss, Greg! Do them whenever you enjoy it and make them public if you'd like (it might get folks interested in signing up as patrons for early access!). I've been enjoying your posts, especially the wormholes. :)
