Kyro and Delrix - discipline is relief?
Added 2023-03-22 12:52:21 +0000 UTCNote the title's touch of bdsm. Kyro's supportiveness recently manifested in a voice call in which he ordered me around this picture in a relieving way. Having improved since the bumpy beginnings, I was frustrated and stuck. So the client himself had to tell me what to do and how far to finish it. And it worked. I fell into a rhythm very quickly and breezed through the last refinements in an hour or so, ignoring all the little things that disturbed me. It was a fantastic experience.
Do not overidentify with your work. I like many of the people I work for - and yet the point stands that confusing friendship and money can do damage. It creates an unhealthy pressure. Art and creation are vulnerable. During a self care sesh + meditation on an off day I read some perspectives on how to improve one's relationship to that spark, and since then I've been trying to see money through a digestive metaphor. There is a barrier between that tract and your blood. Don't poison yourself. Another metaphor was the sponge: Personal art fills it up; commissions wring it out. More on that in another post. But I now hope I'm set on a healthier path that has timers and calenders - bit by bit. Thank you for being that voice Kyro. Looking forward to repeating that exercise sometime lol.
