Idc what the community says about Zoro's backstory not being sad enough, for me it always makes me tear up. For some reason i can relate to it so much, your childhodd friend/rival you were never able to beat somehow just passes away and all the hard work and training you've put in to reach her and surpass her went along with her. They did a great job with this, the sword fight with Kuina, the sad soundtrack, the funeral scene, it was perfect. And i don't wanna be that guy who compares it to the anime but, Kuina's frustration about being born a girl was really well done in the anime, making her death a lot more bitter and question if there could be more behind it. Anyways Zoro he's my favotite lol!

2023-09-15 01:38:03 +0000 UTCIts a good thing she'd already watched the next episode, because she was still confused as to whether luffy was calling garp 'grandpa' because he's an old man, or if he was luffys actual grandpa. you need to watch what you're saying with how you comment so much every ep. you comment so much and you've skirted the edge of what id consider spoiler territory so many times

2023-09-14 05:19:53 +0000 UTCIt's so interesting to look back at the things Garp has said in the previous few episodes with the context of knowing Luffy is his grandson. His lines are full of phrases like "Consequences for their actions" and "need a firm hand to put them back in their place". Instead of the sinister fatalist feeling I initially got from them, all of these little phrases now sound like something one would hear from an old school hardass who was lecturing their kid (or grandkid in this case).
