2025-03-18 07:31:58 +0000 UTCYeah, I knew you'd like this one. The whole ... courtship, I guess? ... was amazing. And watching Harry go on that roller coaster ride of adolescent love (Alien Harry is not a teenager, but Human Harry sort of is, and so is Human Heather) was pretty hysterical. When it wasn't heartbreaking. Also, Edi Patterson (who plays Heather) is REALLY good at the weird alien affectations, almost as good as Alan Tudyk is, and that's saying something. She was a great casting find. I read some biographical stuff that says she has a background in improv, being in the Main Cast of The Groundlings in LA. Which doesn't surprise me; she really throws herself into the role very convincingly. Harry's met his match, I think, in more ways than one. The rez stuff was particularly interesting because I was surprised to see such ready acceptance of gay marriage in a Native American community. I don't know *why* I was; I guess I just think LBGTQ+ opposition tends to run pretty high in "traditional" communities. But after spending some time reading up on this, I guess the reality is that there is a wide variety of thinking on this subject in indigenous communities, just as there is among those with European ancestry, just as there is in other world cultures. Fortunately, it seems everybody is moving in the direction of acceptance. And yay for that. And speaking of acceptance, I love it that D'Arcy is totally unfazed by weird alien stuff now. A portal appears? Whatever, dude. A talking, human sized bird steps out? Sure, why not? Three foot tall green tech support critter? Yawn. Though, to be fair, D'Arcy never seemed that thrown by Harry's truth either. And she probably still confuses aliens with dinosaurs, but, you know... potato, potahto. So the alien tracker is about to become the ... robo-alien tracker? Will Mike and Liv be catching up to him soon? I'm a little worried about Kate. Maybe a lot worried. That is all.
