The Death Tribe: A Personal Story ☠️

With Day of the Dead just behind us, I was invited by my close friend Marko Ayling (Vagabrothers) to his monthly storytelling event in Mexico City called Cuentame.

This months theme was "Death" and I told a behind the scenes story of my death tribe video in Indonesia. Have a listen, and let me know what you think. How has death affected you?

The Death Tribe: A Personal Story ☠️

What's up bro I have also lost three loved ones including my grandmother, she was 92 years old I wanted her to reach 100, it was not like that, but I am afraid of not living those moments because there is only one life. I fear getting old and never traveling

Mike, the telling of your story about your grandmother's death and your feelings about it was very touching and heartfelt. This hit pretty close to home as I lost my mother in Sept., '21. At her death she was 28 days short of her 93rd birthday. I was her principle caregiver for her last several years. She was in reasonably good health for a woman her age; she suffered with mobility issues and dementia. Her death wasn't unexpected; but it was a surprise when it happened. She had a massive heart attached and passed less that 36 hours later. I often think about my own death. If I'm lucky I'll be around for another twenty or twenty-five years, maybe less. Who knows. I don't know if I actually fear death or not; but like I said I do think about it. We never know when our number will be up. It's a universal truth that we are all born to die and in between we live the best we can with the gifts and grace that God gives us. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on your own mortality.

My favorite thing to hear Brian!

My biggest fear is death and the after life. Your show has inspired me to push myself and try to face my fears

Thanks man. A very personal story for me!

I can not stop watching this video

Thanks so much Sam. Was really moved by your message to me here on Patreon. Happy to show you the world as you recover bro! Let me be the guinea pig for now haha, I'll report back with my lessons and findings.

Thanks for this story Mike! You are a fantastic speaker. I will never forget the Death Tribe after seeing your video... truly one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen. It really does make you think, it changed my perspective about death forever, and that was just from the video! Thank you for sharing it and showing me that the world is a truly amazing place with amazing cultures and people, I want to travel to every continent myself when I am physically able to someday.
