The Himba Tribe (Uncensored)

Finally... It's here. The full video of my experience with the Himba Tribe in Namibia.
This is a pre-release of the video that will be released on YouTube tomorrow.

Obviously there is a lot here that needs to be censored for YouTube, but I thought you all deserved to witness the raw experience. There will be an uncut version coming shortly. There is so much left on the cutting room floor, which is most of the reason this took 2 years to edit.

I would love to know your thoughts. This one was close to my heart.

That contrasted beauty of other world cultures is curious to touch to know.

Man, the Himba tribe was one of the ones that caught me the most on your channel. It was a totally captivating experience, that event ended up melting me inside. I was very excited, moved. Although I wonder how to write about the object you used to rest your head on Mike. If you felt comfortable rested?; Hey, those houses that they made caught my attention, I fell in love with absolutely everything, their landscapes, every minute detail. My heart breaks for being there for wanting to live in the moment.

In that situation I would have snugged up to Cody. Conversation done.

Many African cultures use a certain kind of soft stick as a brush and a pick. I've seen it in Congo, Mauritania, Tanzania, and here.

Thank you Bob! How was Liberia? Worth a F&F trip?

They really are right?

Happy you liked this Khriz!

Hahaha yeah, there's also ~40% HIV rate in these countries unfortunately.

Lars! Thank you! I should have had you along with me man. How did you learn so much about the tribe?

Nah not at all. Fascination if anything, especially when I started grabbing the poop and helping them make a house haha.

Yes you're right. I didn't know this until after I posted and people corrected me. He said "Yes it's the Poop" but that still didn't make much sense to me 😆

What did they use to clean their teeth? Some girl in the end of the video was rubbing her teeth with something.

I’m so glad I came upon your videos. I have been to Liberia and my friends there suggested I go to Ethiopia. After watching your video I’m going to start making plans. Thanks Mike!

They are so beautiful

The smoke does actually kill bacteria and cleanse them on a microbial level.

Hahaha I know right? Namibia has like a 10% HIV rate, but that's a souvenir that takes up no space in your bag!

Mike. How can you insult the man like that by not bedding with his Wife for a nice warm cuddle in those cold desert nights. It's tradition man and you were the guest of honour that stay.

Such cool people right? I wish I could have posted the Uncensored version on YouTube!

Those are seriously some of the most adorable and beautiful children I have ever seen. And the women are stunning! Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the life’s and culture of these amazing tribes

Amazing way to illustrate the beauty and difference of our planet

Wondered why he didn’t accept, then I saw how they showered.

the wife lending is an old tradition they have , a himba man shows his approval and pleasure of seeing his guest by giving him the Okujepisa Omukazendu treatment. and yeah so by you not accepting that treatment ( dont need to have sex though, I think they mostly understand ) makes them worry.... some Himba tribes offer it just for relatives or other Himba tribes and some offer it to tourist also.. but never heard anyone actullay having sex as a tourist, so I think maybe its tabu subject or something.

You seem like you blended in alright lol! Did you feel that your appearance bothered them at all at some point? Did they put any weight into your appearance being different or maybe some dehumanizing from being different?

I think at 4:27 he says the intestine is used for wors, which in afrikaans means sausage.

Hey Jaimie! So awesome to have you here. This Himba video was special for me, it’s why it took so long to edit. Thanks for the love!

Wowwww man. This was used as a pillow too? The world is filled with these strange connections!

What is up my crazy, trail blazing, adventurous, warrior mother of what!?! JK. But for real. That wooden "pillow" you were offered has some strange, across the planet, kind of connection. The Japanese and Chinese use very similar instruments. https://image.invaluable.com/housePhotos/MarquesdosSantos/97/605597/H4662-L116595450.jpg Much Love!!!

I originally found this video on youtube, leading me to your channel, which subsequently opened my eyes to the beautiful world around us. I really appreciate the way you organically capture mankind thriving, regardless of location, culture, or race. Your videos are always tastefully done. So far, I've really enjoyed your content. Keep up the great work! 🤟

Amazing video and a tastefully done way to illustrate cultural differences. It was an honest and thoughtful way of dealing with the persistent questions about marriage, too. You captured the beautiful nature of the people in the village. Thank you for sharing!

Such a beautiful video, man. I knew this video would be well worth the wait. it's even more engrossing than I thought it would be. A fantastic peek into Himba life and culture. As always, it's so interesting to see the differences between your (Western) culture and theirs, especially the concepts of love and marriage. I thought you handled the marriage questions and the wife-lending as kindly and as respectfully as you could. I honestly don't know what I would do in that situation. And seeing you interact and play with the local kids is always a highlight of your videos. Seeing the smoke bath was fascinating (haha, don't set the jewels on fire 😂), as was the applying of the ochre. What you said at the very end was beautiful. Perfectly said. That's how I try to view the world as well. This video was a real treat to watch. Yet another reason why I'm proud to be a Dragon. 🐉🔥❤️
