Monthly Minicomic Club, periodic overview

Apologies to existing members of my Monthly Minicomic Club, both digital and physical, who are already well aware of how my project functions, but Patreon has recently made some effective improvements to how the site works in terms of attracting new free memberships, and quite a lot of them have come my way. So, it feels like it might be good for me to periodically post a short overview of how things work in the hopes of perhaps enticing a few of you to take the plunge and become new paid members.

October's Minicomic of the Month: The Chamber, available until early November

Mike Dawson's Monthly Minicomic Club is exactly as it sounds, every month I create a brand new 'zine or minicomic, and I mail a signed copy to every member of the club. It's done on a flat-fee system, there are no additional shipping charges, and international members are welcome.

August's Minicomic of the Month: FUN TIME Is This the Real Life?

Members of the print club also receive a link to download a PDF of every new issue, as well as access to a digital edition of almost all of my past publications. The link to download the PDF is usually circulated just after I've finished popping all the physical envelopes into the mail.

July's Minicomic of the Month: The FUN TIME Summer Special

Comics vary in size and scope, but I go to solid lengths to make sure every monthly mailing feels substantive enough to warrant the cost. I favor digest-sized 'zines, 5.5x8.5 inches, that can be between 12 and 24 pages in length. Sometimes comics collect up some of my favorite short-form gag strips, sometimes they will feature complete cartoon essays.

A Part, Apart - everyone gets this comic

The above publication, A Part, Apart is a full-color 24 page digest sized comic that features two complete cartoon essays that directly inspired the new middle-grade graphic novel I have coming out next year. I'm hoping that book connects with an audience, and to that end, I'm sending a free copy of this 'zine to all new members, along with the newest Monthly Minicomic.

The Hidden Dominion of Geordie James promotional postcard, sent out to Minicomic Club members well before it was officially published and shared online

I like including little extras in the envelopes, such as postcards like the ones above or below. I've dropped in bonus comics and stickers as well. These extras are only available to print members.

25% discount for annual subscriptions.

Annual subscriptions are very helpful to me, they let me know that there's going to be an audience there ready to receive comics, and give me a little financial boost on a month to month basis. I encourage everybody who is interested in the club, or for that matter, members who are enjoying the comics and know they're likely going to want to stick with it for a while longer, to take advantage of the 25% discount on annual memberships.

That's it. Thanks for reading this, thanks for being a free member, and thanks for considering signing up for one of my paid tiers!

Your pal,

Mike

I’m new here and this is my first exposure to these. What a lot of fun!
