Hello friends,
This is a post to let you know that I sent the files for the August minicomic off to the printer's yesterday. I am hoping to receive them back sometime between the middle and end of next week (around August 27-28th-ish) so I can get copies out into the mail before the end of the month. It's 20 pages, full color, digest sized, and I think an all around nice package.
For September I am planning a "Back to School" issue, which will include some cartoons I was writing recently about an old episode of The Simpsons where Apu gets his citizenship.

Then in October I have a new cartoon essay roughed out and written entitled MIDDLE ENGLAND that I'm excited to start drawing.

With this month's comic, revisiting some of my earlier work about my own immigration experiences, and then the two comics I've got coming up, I think it's possible to sense a theme. Gee, I wonder why this stuff might be on my mind these days...
On a different note, sometimes people ask me how it works, running a Monthly Minicomics Club. In the next few weeks I'll be putting together some sort of post for paid members, explaining some of the nuts and bolts of doing this, how I get the comics ready for print, and basically how I handle all the mailing and whatnot. If you are interested in knowing more about all that, then I think you'll like reading my writeup.
Finally, just a heads up, the Stranger Things cartoon essay I wrote a little while back will finally be appearing in The New York Times Arts & Leisure section this coming Sunday, August 24th. If you are a reader of that paper, then be on the lookout for that!

Thanks as always for the support!
Mike
