A ruptured ear-drum is maybe not a huge deal, it might be much more common than I realize, but I'm funny about my ears, I was a chronic ear-infection kind of kid, and had those drainage tubes put in twice while I was little. I very much hate having something going on inside them. Right now it doesn't hurt at all anymore, but I am having considerable hearing loss issues. Everything is muffled, I don't like it. But, supposedly the ear-drum regenerates itself, so hopefully in 4-6 weeks I'll be back to normal.
Jurassic Park in the theater with my son was awesome. He knew he was going to be terrified by the T-Rex, he even said he was making fun of the CGI on the brontosaurus as a way of helping himself deal with what he knew was coming. It's a solid movie all the way through, and has so many of the things that I've come to love about watching what are now considered "older" movies. Short running time, few "easter eggs", and best of all, it ends when the story finishes. The T-Rex saves them, they run outside, Hammond says "it's over", they get in the chopper, look out the window, end-credits start scrolling. I love it.
