Pandemic Anniversary

NEW COMIC!!!... mostly.

Sometime around now is what I'd consider the third anniversary of my own personal pandemic. It was either March 14th or 15th 2020 when we got the word that schools would be closing for two weeks, and then there were a million people I never ever saw again.

It is sort of embarrassing how many comic essays I've made about World War II propaganda posters. It's something I've come back to again and again, and usually from the lens of, why can't we all sacrifice for the collective good once more? For me, it's most often been in regards to dealing with Climate Change, but it's certainly been the kind of "America needs a National Purpose" thinking that I've also criticized in other cartoon essays.

But, I've tried to reflect a little on what living through this period might have taught us in regards to WE CAN DO IT collective sacrifice moments of the past, and I bet we can all imagine now, that maybe things weren't as easy and smooth as all our most beloved and famous propaganda posters might have us believe.
