A Year of Making Comics - Update #10
Added 2023-02-24 19:30:26 +0000 UTCThis one's for all Patrons
Not a lot of updates over the past two weeks. My wife got herself a case of Covid on a recent business trip. The rest of us seemed to avoid it, but just having it in the house causes upheaval. Then I did come down with some kind of sinus infection anyway, and today my son's home with a stomach bug. It's just non-stop over here.
But, I did want to share that the comic I was workshopping on here earlier in the month has found a home. I submitted it to The New York Times for the Sunday Book Review and they said yes. I believe it'll run in the middle of March. I am thrilled.
I've had work published at somewhat high profile outlets in the past, but with some of them it's only been a one-time thing. I got an initial pitch accepted, but have never been able to follow it up. Getting a second piece published in the NYT, so soon after the first as well, feels very validating. It would be great if it became a place I could get my work placed on a somewhat regular basis.
For the folks who are not subscribed to my 'Zine Club/Premium level and for the folks who are, this is a revised draft of the comic I'd been working on and had been posting as part of this "Year of Making Comics" series. If you'd like to see more stuff like this as I'm working on it, please consider supporting me at the higher level. You get print 'zines as well. Otherwise, today, enjoy!
