Hi there, I hope you're having a great holiday season. I wanted to post to let you know I'm pausing billing in January to give myself a minute to think about how I want to handle this Patreon moving forward.
Let me just say, first and foremost, *THANKYOU* for backing me here. It means so much to me. Part of why I want to rethink this Patreon is because I feel like you, the people who are actually supporting me with real earned actual cold-hard cash, are the one's getting the worst experience of my work. I put a lot of time and effort into creating diary comics and strips that I post online for free, but I'm not finding myself capable of putting the same amount of effort into creating the Patreon-exclusive rewards and content that I've promised. I feel like I'm taking your support for granted, and I don't want to do that anymore. I want for you to have the best experience of my work possible. You're the ones who care enough to put money on the table, and I recognize that.
I need to decide where to go from here. I sometimes think I should remove all reward tiers except "monthly support" and let this account operate kind of like a Ko-fi tip jar kind of thing, and other times I think I should dial back on the comics I make for free elsewhere, and really lean into creating quality exclusive content here.
I would be curious to know what you would prefer, or if you even mind about what my levels of content creation here have been. I won't restart billing until I've figured out a game-plan I can stick to.
For those backers who are supporting me at the Scotch-Egg comics subscription level, I am still making new minicomics that I will send out in the next month or so. Again though, I won't restart billing until things are sorted.
For those backing me at the friendly support level, I will continue to cross-post new comics here as I create them.
Thankyou again for supporting me!
Mike
