The crazy tragedy of raising these young 'uns. You want them to succeed. You want them to be better than you, do better than you. And then when they're better looking, more talented, better at sports, better at math and science and they draw a successful cartoon at a young age... you're happy for them. Ecstatic. But also... something else. :)

I feel the same way about my son. He's 10 x the artist I will ever be. I kid myself that he wouldn't where he is if I hadn't nudged him at a formative age, but I think it's entirely possible he was just better than me from birth. More proud than jealous, but only just.
