Leaving Patreon

Importan Edit

Previously, I mentioned that I was considering leaving Patreon. However, I have decided to stay and shift my focus back to my original passion—game development. Your continued support is crucial as I embark on this exciting new journey. Thank you for being part of this transformation!

--------------------------

Dear Patreon Supporters,

I wanted to take a moment to explain a decision that I've been contemplating for some time now. After much consideration, I have decided to discontinue my Patreon page. This decision wasn't made lightly, and I want to be transparent with you about the reasons behind it.

The primary reason for leaving Patreon is that it no longer aligns well with the way I create and share my work. Over time, I've found that the platform's structure doesn't quite fit my evolving work model. It's become challenging for users to easily access and engage with my content, and I've noticed it's equally difficult for me to connect meaningfully with my supporters.

One of the main issues I've encountered is the visibility of my work. Patreon, though a great platform in many ways, can sometimes make it hard for users to discover and navigate through the content I produce. This makes it less rewarding for both you, my valued supporters, and me as a creator. I believe that the experience of engaging with my work should be seamless and enjoyable, which unfortunately hasn't always been the case with Patreon.

Moreover, I've realized that fostering a deeper connection with you all has been a challenge within Patreon's framework. Meaningful interactions and engagement are crucial to me, and I've found that other platforms or methods might better facilitate these relationships.

Moving forward, I'm exploring alternative ways to share my work and connect with supporters more directly. I want to ensure that your support is acknowledged and appreciated in the most effective and engaging manner possible.

I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has supported me on Patreon. Your contributions have meant the world to me and have played a significant role in my creative journey. While this chapter may be closing, I'm excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and hope you'll continue to be a part of this journey with me.

Please stay tuned for updates on my twitter or Instagram accounts how you can continue to support and engage with my work outside of Patreon.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support.

Patreon access links will remain active for a while so if you need to download any content do it as fast as you can before they are gone.

Warm regards,

Luis Zuno

Edit:

Regarding download links

I will keep my account active the patreon access remains active.

Just visit https://ansimuz.itch.io/ at the front page are 6 collections containing my entire library of assets. Look for the patreon access link.

That's it. Happy Gamedev!

Looks like I re-started my support just in time to hear about the changeover. I love the asset packs you make. I dabble in programming despite not being a game developer myself, but I like the Gothicvania sprites so much. I might have to make a Classicvania myself. Anyway, I hope to keep up with you on your next platform.

Jadedrakerider

Thanks for having a look! Besides, I believe it's an issue with either Itch.io or Patreon. The error is now: "We had some trouble connecting your account Your pledge amount is too low (£6.37 < $3.00)". One answer I found is to change my local currency as the system is definitely messing the math (6.37GBP is definitely more than both 5 and 3 USD!). Still trying to get an answer from Support :/

Alex 'NeatWolf' Salvati

Thanks I appreciate the support, Best luck with your game.

Luis Zuno

Seems like a conversion issue with itchio. I have changed the required amount for the main collections so you can download them without issues. Let me know if that worked. THanks.

Luis Zuno

I meant to reply when you first posted, but I just wanted to say that I really love your pixel art and I am so glad to be able to use it my (eventual) game. Your Patreon was the absolute best deal one could get in game assets! I really looked forward to what cool new asset would pop up in my email. I wish you the best of luck in the next steps in your pixel art journey, and I cannot wait to see what you make!

Indie Aidan

Ouch! I've been lurking for quite a bit and tried to support whenever I could (until the gaming industry crisis let me jobless basically), and it's sad to see you go :/ When switching to itch.io I'm getting a weird error when connecting through patreon to redeem the assets there: Pledge is too low (£6.37 < $5.00) - which doesn't make any sense? ^^"

Alex 'NeatWolf' Salvati

Thanks, I will continue creating assets. and sharing stuff free stuff on my site. follow me on Instagram or twitter.

Luis Zuno

Thanks Ian for being one of my earliest supporters!

Luis Zuno

Wishing you all the best, Ansimuz. Over ten years ago now you reached out to me as a fellow indie game developer to share your project, Elliot Quest, and it has been a delight finding ways to support you while I watch you grow (and grow, and grow, and grow!) your talent.

Neon O'Dea

Yes is intentional, those are public anyone can download them. :D

Luis Zuno

Thanks

Luis Zuno

Wherever you go, I wish you the best of luck. Your assets are incredible, and it's been a blast seeing your creative process. Peace be with you, I'll keep following on itch.io as well! :)

Gawain Doell

A couple of your asset packs appear to not have Patreon access. Is this intentional? Grotto Escape and Sunny Land lack any Patreon link.

Charles Williams

That's a shame, but I wish you luck in whatever you do next. Your work is amazing

Evan d.

Thanks :D

Luis Zuno

So long and thanks for all the....art? Seriously though, you will be missed.

Michael Greenhut

Sure thing, The best way to download the files would be to enter at ansimuz.com there will be 6 main collections (gothicvania, warped, tiny RPG and explosions and magic) these have all the assets in collections. https://ansimuz.itch.io/

Luis Zuno

Thanks J, I will continue creating free content, But instead of Patreon I will focus to post it on Instagram.

Luis Zuno

I'm pretty sure you can access the content after. I am not deleting my account so the link should remain active :D

Luis Zuno

I'm sorry for your decision but I totally understand your point and wishing you the best. Is it possible for you to create some package with all your material to download it easily then?

Leopoldo Spedalieri

Oh wow. That sounds like the end of an era. Man, Luis I guess you know how much I love your pixelart and your art and how inspiring everything you created was over the years for all of my games. Thank you for beeing here! And good luck with all your upcoming projects! Hope we stay in contact somehow! All the best man! Jot - ILIKESCIFI Games

ILIKESCIFI

...can you give those of us who have been long time patrons that came from itch.io permanent access to that stuff?

Victor R. Ziblis

Kakyouin

Kakyouin

Sorry but I 'll think of a better way.

Luis Zuno

Thanks for all the years of support, you can reach me on best twitter or Instagram.

Luis Zuno

Bit of a bummer, but understandable. As a very long time patron its sad to see you go, but if its for the best with your work then Im all for it. Im working on a godot game on the side and was planning on reaching out to you once I have a full prototype and am in need of art (probably 8-12 months from now). Is twitter a good place to reachyou for something like that?

ArcadeDragon

Well, that's a bummer
