Honestly it's been peak since that Arima Kinen episode, not as good as season 2, but I can definitely say it's KIND OF close. Super super enjoyable season

2025-09-28 23:13:44 +0000 UTCI prefer this season over season 2. For me this is the more well rounded story. Season 2 was a little to much, you get a injury, you get an injury, everyone get an injury. So it felt quite constructed. In the end I wonder how can they keep it fresh as this had much of season 1 vibe. The races are still quite fun but I wonder what kind of hook they will get out for the next season.

Not only is her grandfather Bakushin but her other grandfather is Sunday Silence who is the father/grandfather to a ridiculous amount of amazing horses. She also notably has the record for largest career earnings of any Japanese horse, taking the title from an uma whose story you’re about to get to. Kitasan Black is currently retired as a breeding stud similarly to Gold Ship. However while Gold Ship seems to enjoy his new life more than racing, Kitasan is the exact opposite. Kitasan is known to race the horses in the pasture next to him so much that it’s impossible for the staff to keep him fat. (Being big is preferred in the breeding process) They’ve tried multiple times to feed him more but he just uses that extra energy to race more. Eventually they’ve basically given up and started putting overweight horses in the fields next to him so they can start slimming down. Also Kitasan Black and Almond Eyes had a kid together that starts racing next year and I personally will be watching that horses career. Now random facts. Meisho Doto was really friendly with other animals and you can find many a pictures of her with raccoons, cats and goats. The uma that’s staring at the camera constantly is Aston Machan. She’s a mare from the same generation as Diwa Scarlet and Vodka. She was on the same level as them however she sadly died early due to disease. Her owner really wants people to remember her and that’s why she stares at the camera constantly. Her story in the Japanese version is also considered really good.
