I fully resonated with you here, in the regards of "it feels like I'm the one experiencing a heartbreak", and how this romance anime rejection gave such painful emotional damage that I genuinely feel sad and down for a few days before I even wanna watch anything else. The crying from Hina really hurts so much worse and the VA totally brought that scene to a next level. In the manga of this chapter, the author had a doodle by the end of chapter, saying "Hina, you are enough" HOLY EMOTIONAL DAMAGE AGAIN

Hina truly is the most tragic of Losing Heroine, sadly. Love her more than Chinatsu, but unfortunately, Chi is the Taiki's main love interest

“This world shall know pain!”

I have a feeling this moment will be huge in Ayame's development.

Pain We knew it was coming, yet still Pain. They really knew what they were doing to us, didn't they. Amazing episode, that was portrayed really well, good on Taiki for stepping up and saying what needed to be said. Heh, for a minute there I wondered if we were gonna get another episode with you straight up leaving the room.

I think it's pretty natural to want an alternate reality ending at this point and if you read comments on the manga around these chapters would get a very similar vibe from people. That being said, without any spoilers I think it would be disingenuous to the character development that builds off this turning point for all the characters involved. If they don't do a season 2 should 100% read the rest they are stopping at an interesting point.

Besides what I commented on Patreon, can take a look at my small essay I wrote, I will state that I have watched this scene a few times now and they did it fantastic, still tear up a little. Hina's VA did a great job on the emotional acting for this episode.

And here it is… the episode I’ve been waiting for you to get to since you started watching this series. They built up Hina’s character so well and then destroy her feelings in one of the best/painful rejections. Read this when it first came out and destroyed me. Knew Hina would lose, but she gave it her best shot. Arguably one of the best love triangles imo. Hina is still an amazingly fleshed out character.
