2025-09-17 16:01:23 +0000 UTCThis was an instant watch because it's one of my favorite films but also from a couple of my favorite ladies! I knew you would love it. There are four more films (Beneath, Escape, Conquest and Battle for the Planet of the Apes) that continue on from this. There was a Live Action and animated TV series after those followed by Tim Burton trying to reboot this one in 2001. There are four more films made starting in 2011 for essentially another timeline starting with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Some trivia: Roddy McDowall (Cornelius), an experienced actor, recommended to his companions in makeup that they should frequently add tics, blinks and assorted facial gestures to add a sense of realism and keep the makeup from appearing "mask-like". You were right about Animal Farm! During the trial scene, Honorious challenges Taylor by asking him: "Why are all apes created equal?", to which Taylor responds: "Some apes, it seems, are more equal than others". This is a clear reference to George Orwell's famous novel "Animal Farm."
