Such a sad, but great movie. Paul Newman is a great actor. can not believe this was your first time seeing one of his movies. Waiting now for your Color of Money reaction to upload. I met Piper Laurie once just before she passed away. Hope you watch other Paul Newman movies, Somebody Up There Likes me, and of course Cool Hand Luke, a couple of my favorites. so many other great movies. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Sting (1973), The Towering Inferno (1974), Absence of Malice (1981), The Verdict (1982) Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958).

2025-05-07 11:12:45 +0000 UTCThis was surprisingly dark and edgy for the early sixties. I kept wondering if it was somehow connected to Color of Money. I wish we could have seen more of Minnesota Fats. I like Jackie Gleason too. My grandparents were fans of The Honeymooners, and he was in a few big 80s movies in his later years. I know him mostly from movies like Smokey and The Bandit with Burt Reynolds, (see that if you want to see his comedy genius turned up to 11!) and The Toy with Richard Pryor. Those were on TV a lot when I was a child. I think he may have worked with Paul Newman again in The Sting, or Sting 2, but I’m not completely sure about that. If you haven’t seen Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid with Paul Newman, and Robert Redford, I would highly recommend it.
