The Last Jedi (2017) FULL WATCH ALONG w/ Coby

Here it is the most controversial Star Wars movie ever made! Some love it! Some hate it! Some loathe it! How will Coby feel? Especially after she loved The Force Awakens, and absolutely adores Adam Driver. Plus, she was really into Finn! Here we go! Buckle up!

I should also mention that the lady with the two little buns is named Lieutenant Connix and is played by Billie Lourd, who is Carrie Fisher’s daughter. She is often seen close to Leia.

Liking movies is more fun than not liking movies. Great stuff, Coby. I'm thankful to have seen every Star Wars film in the theater on their subsequent opening weekends... and I enthusiastically welcome any/all new Star Wars content that Disney decides to release.

** SPOILERS ** There were two (unintended, I guess) funny moments where I had a big grin: - Ren's expresion once he fails the "You'll bring Skywalker to me!" on Rey. Was sort of "Nice try, but not so fast, young Padawan!" :)) - We've all heard that song, the "Overpowered Rey" - nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody, sang it better than Kylo&Hux duo on the outcome of the throne hall fight "What happen? - The girl killed Snoke": ie the little scavenger killed the galaxy's badass Snoke, killed all pretorian guards, beat galaxy's badass Kylo until let him unconscious, stole Snoke's escape craft and left. And both Kyle and Hux seems unfazed and willing to go after her. Also, I liked two continuity details (also present in Ep IX) - Rey was allowed to keep the small blaster Han gave her in TFA (here probably Rian Johnson did not observe) - Every time Rey reunites with BB8 she's checking if his antenna is OK. I've observed on first watch in 2017 the Jedi books at the end of the movie stolen by our little scavenger and hidden in Millenium' shelf, but it took me about three years to realize on a rewatch that beloved mischievous Yoda was speaking literally when he told Luke "that library contains nothing what girl Rey does not already possesses" :)

I should mention that there is a beautiful little moment during the credits, when the Leia theme music starts playing and the card reads “In loving memory of our princess, Carrie Fisher.” It brings tears to my eyes every time. RIP

I never said I was a Stars Wars Fan. I like the movies. A New Hope and Empire were perfect films. Return of the Jedi definitely has problems, but was a great end to the trilogy. I’ve realized that’s all I need. Nothing else to it. If someone places Hans Delbruck’s Brain into a newly created body… is it still Hans Delbruck or is it Frankenstein?

Sorry, but anyone who doesn't think Luke Skywalker has an emotional hair trigger has literally never understood his character. Your failure to understand Star Wars or even basic storytelling isn't the films fault.

Hey man, if you like 12% of a thing, maybe you don't actually like that thing. Don't worry. No one said you had to be a Star Wars fan. Edit: Actually, I did the math. Of the 291 hours of Star Wars media, you like less than 6. You actually only enjoy 3% of Star Wars. You can stop calling yourself a fan now bud.

I've softened on this movie from when I first watched it. I have some issues with it...probably the most egregious was the Rose nearly killing herself and Finn toward the end. I won't go into the rest as I know this movie is bashed constantly for lots of reasons (many of which I don't agree with) but I'm glad Coby enjoyed it.

I just finished watching it 🥰

I saw The Force Awakens in 2015. Overall, I liked it. Really disappointed that Han, Luke and Leia weren’t ever in the same scene. Didn’t know what to think about H** dying, by the hand of his s**. Maybe he could return in flashbacks. But I trusted JJ Abrams and really trusted Lawrence Kasdan (writer of Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark). The final scene had me intrigued and I eagerly waited for 2 years to see The Last Jedi. I’m unsure of the order of scenes, because I’ve only ever watched this film once, but I believe there was a weird “Momma” joke in the beginning that pulled me out of the film a little. But I’m pretty sure it was the lightsaber toss from Luke in the beginning, that de-railed my mind for the entire film, until the end credits when John Williams’ score knocked me back on track and I realized I just watched a “Star Wars film.” The Star Wars film I waited 18 + 2 years for. (Many, many others waited much, much longer) WTF!! This was not a Stars Wars film. That was not Luke Skywalker. That was not Princess Leia. There were no Jedi in this film. It was in 2017 when I realized, There are only 3 Stars Wars films. The first came out in 1977 and the last came out in 1983… and I’m Happy with that. PS: I’m also unaware of any Stars Wars TV Shows that I sometimes hear people talk about. I’ve looked, but never found any. ;-) I hope you, Coby, find your own Peace and Happiness with Stars Wars as well. :-)
