80's did have the best music. I was in high school when this came out and I had a best friend and one of my teachers saw us in the hall and said I just saw a movie about you two last night. ha.. Pretty close to Basil and I. ha. But yeah this soundtrack is great. The song you said you think you might remember is by a band called Shark Island they were more or less Sunset strip legends but due to the change in music scene the band didn't really get a big push. But they were one of my favorites. This was filmed in my neck of the woods of Phoenix. the high school is Coronado High school in Scottsdale ironically my best friends teaches there ha. That circe K is no longer there but it was a running gag thing to always ask the attendant there if they knew when the Mongols ruled China and they'd always responds.. i don't know, I just work here. Sadly that Circle K closed down a few years ago. The mall was Metro Center which was THE mall in Arizona to hang out at on weekends. but that too is sadly no longer there.
