A cute little fun fact: the singer of the first and 2nd ED, Kohana Lam, got a voice line in this episode. She's the hair stylist that gave Ichikawa that new fresh look. She's such a fangirl of this anime haha

Excellent character development, just like you said two exceptional scenes in just this one episode, and yeah the animation as well along with the soundtrack. It all comes together to have such a strong impact.
