Emma Knox is an AI generated Time Traveler. She was born outside Vicksburg, Mississippi to a poor sharecropping family in 1861. She was 19 in 1880 when she hopped a freight train headed for Memphis and fell asleep. She woke up to find out she was a hitchhiker sitting in the passenger seat of a semi-truck in 2024. Emma is trying to figure out how life in the 21st Century works.
Merritt Gray, likewise, is an AI generated Time Traveler. He was born in the Atlanta Georgia area in 1960 and graduated from University of Georgia in 1983, then moved home to Atlanta to look for work. One day in 1984, while out for a drive, he encountered a phenomenon that time-shifted him ahead 40 years to the year 2024 and transported him across the continent.
Emma and Merritt, along with other characters not generated by AGI, are trying to figure out what happened, why it happened, what they are supposed to be doing, all while learning how to live in the 21st Century.
