On the getting into your home topic. I once bought a home that was mostly vaulted ceilings, but there was an outside patio and the entrance to the attic (a pull down ladder) was outside the home. Just because a house is built to code....does not mean it is built to be secure.

I got a tap on my front window, I looked out the window and saw six guys spread out dressed in tactical gear and a guy in a suit holding up a badge. Since I’m in Idaho near the Canadian border a border patrol vehicle was also visible. I stuck a Glock in the back of my pants, called my dog and let him out first. I came out and contacted the officers, my bull terroir was distracting them with his play with me friendly behavior. They were looking for a friend of mine. It turned out later that the serial number on a 1890 bolt action rifle he purchased had been transposed when he purchased the rifle. The mis numbered rifle was a different rifle that had been used in a homicide. I told them who I was and what my background was. They laughed, played with my dog and then left. Not shots fired!

Of course no fence is completely unclimbable but make your house the most secure in the neighborhood. In this video where was the dog? Have a dog that can protect your house not a toy. And if you had a doggy door don’t lock up the dog so it can’t be effective. Video number two, they looked like fake cops. Ask for badges, search warrants, call police. Maybe you can’t delay them long enough but try to verify if you’re not a criminal.

2025-10-31 00:27:18 +0000 UTCMy family just had an incident yesterday, in broad daylight, with a lot of people around. Suburban mall. One is waiting by the curb, to pick up the other. Gets message, "Coming out now". Unlocked car doors 🤦 A man, with a drink and a shopping bag, opens the back hatch door. Family member 1 was assertive "Hey! What are you doing?!" THEN, he closed the door and went to the rear passenger door and opened it! Same reaction, and family member 2 arrived. Man shut door and left. Car pulis up and man gets into that car and leaves. I wasn't there, but we've had several conversations, since. Ne'er-do-wells are becoming more brazen, and, no matter their appearance, people might be very smart. It's common to make assumptions about people who Hollywood trains us to assume aren't intelligent, because of the way they appear and/or speak. Our prisons aren't called "crime colleges" for nothing. Correlation: yesterday, I saw a report about all the reactions to SNAP/"food stamps" on social media, calling for people to shoplift from stores and take things from people who are leaving stores. At least they're not "spreading misinformation" 🙄 so, no reason not to let those channels keep trending. IMO: Top down, social engineering is part of the problem. Divide and conquer, with extra social strife, is a continual long game. Boycott ideological labels and political parties, is my advice, in general. The Pendulum is NOT the best tool for eternal vigilance against corruption or maintaining a tolerant middle. In fact, Reality is not a 2D spectrum line, but a 3D sphere, and we've been seeing full 360s that combined the Democrats' POTUS candidate with the Neocons, in our last election. The ideologies are fake, false, and, if they're on a limited menu, choosing one is complicity, IMO.

I don't want to scare people; but maybe if there was a little bit of fear, folks wouldn't just open the door or be completely oblivious to the world around them. My husband is now totally sure we do *not* need a doggie door. LOL!
