Added 2025-04-20 17:37:15 +0000 UTCJohn Stryker Meyer is a decorated Green Beret who served two tours in Vietnam (1968-1969 and 1969-1970) with the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group(MACV-SOG). Enlisting in 1966, he earned his Special Forces tab in 1967 and joined Spike Team Idaho, later leading Recon Team Idaho at Command and Control North (CCN) in Da Nang. Meyer’s missions took him across borders into denied areas, facing intense combat—including surviving multiple gunshot wounds and leading his team through impossible odds. After Vietnam, he served with the 10th Special Forces Group, then transitioned to civilian life as a journalist and author. He hosts the podcast, SOG Cast, and preserves the legacy of special operations veterans.

He's the oldest American in written record that you guys agree to I have my own record because I actually had family in the Revolutionary War on both branches but that's neither here nor there. He's advertised as the oldest man to enlist in the army really interesting story a psychologist and he was treating men from world War II all the way up to the global war on terror if you haven't seen the danger close episode I'm now calling it that because I've invited Mark greene to an event and now I'm just going to get back to work and watch and discussed as you all do nothing

I met a guy named Trung that was a South Vietnamese veteran. That guy was fucking hysterical. He had the most funny, sad, and wild stories about the fall of South Vietnam and how he escaped.
