I was moonlighting with an opera company at the same time, so if there was a big tipper, they would drag me out of the back and have me sing an aria or Con Te Partiro (time capsule for then that song was still super popular with middle aged women). If it hadn’t been $4.50/hr, I probably would have stayed a bit longer than a year.
