It's not just that fewer police could result in general lawlessness and more violent crime, but even small things, like trying to get an office to attend to a traffic accident so that an insurance claim can be filed. I wouldn't be able to risk making deliveries in that environment.

2021-12-14 02:32:47 +0000 UTCI’ve been in a mix of law enforcement and security work since I was 18 years old, I’m currently in law enforcement in the New Orleans area. I’ve seen children that have been shot, people who have been shot to shit, a woman screaming after she’s been raped, cars filled with bullet holes had someone beat me in the head and try to steal my weapon and I’m only alive because my coworkers saved me, and I still come back to work every day. This subject holds a lot of deeply personal feelings to me. The morale of police officers today is in the toilet. They aren’t wanted, they’re not appreciated, they’re not respected. Too many people have disdain for them, many like myself suffer from anxiety and depression issues because of the things and people they encounter on this job. Everyone they meet lies to them, they’re aren’t wanted until someone needs them then they’re not there fast enough, and to top that off they are in danger constantly. It’s a horrible life. Which is why I’m about to resign full time and drop down to a reserve status police officer and it’s also why I signed up for the tier 2 of Patreon so that I could receive some of the training Shawn offers. I choose to stay reserve because even with all the negative pushes against law enforcement today, I firmly believe I was put on this earth to do this job in some capacity and that there are people out there who are defenseless and need our help. Some people can protect themselves or they just hate us and that’s fine, but we’re here if they need us. To all the guys out there who are still holding the line, stand strong and be the cop that the people in need need you to be, and be the cop that the person who’s being killed or hurt in whatever way needs you to be. I can’t say it enough, but cheers to vigilance elite for the great content they put out that has helped so many people….. and for the gummy bears.
