CQB Staircase Lesson
Added 2021-10-19 14:51:03 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
Got a few questions in last weeks post on footwork and I think this video will answer some of them. This will be a good refresher for those of you who have seen this. Studio has come a long way since this one!
Thank you for supporting me and Vigilance Elite.
NEW SRS Episode just cleared editing. Can't wait to share!
This one is going to open up some "what if's".
This video started with stairwells but progressed quickly.
Staircases are one of the most complicated obstacles in CQB. Hopefully this helps answer some of the questions. Hopefully this video also helps get across how much of a disadvantage you are at in single man CQB.
Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Bullets go through materials like butter. If i had the money i would armor all my doors

2023-05-28 11:53:32 +0000 UTCHopefully nobody is behind the door with oobuck or whatever and sees the shadow cast under the door. That’s why he clears doorways fast! Under the stairs is the worst because that’s where a nasty ambush could happen especially if the stairs creek. As a single individual it makes me wonder if i could defeat multiple attackers in my home setting and what I could do to fix “blind spots “?

2023-05-28 11:52:00 +0000 UTC1 man CQB is scary. In a normal life situation outside of team work this is most likely for the average self defender.

2023-05-20 21:46:02 +0000 UTCsorry, continued, hit wrong button. But, I would consider adding some of the following action items to maybe help with your POA. I have performed these actions on my own home due to being in a similar situation. I have added some diversionary / distraction devices that serve a dual purpose. One as early detection device motion sensor that blares the surround stereo extremely loud, 3500 Lumes bright AF strobing lights towards the only way the shit bags can approach the secured areas. All rooms have dead bolts with inside out locks. Wife is severely proficient with her 9-mm with 4-17 round mags in her area, there is a firearm in every room in the house within very concealed devices / areas. No kids in the house these days. Every Sunday, the wife and I run thru a different “what if” scenario and it has actually turned into something that just her and I do, and we have a effn blast doing it. We are 125 acres in middle of nowhere, w/ many other security actions in place. Just to get to the house from the road is a chore and then breaching the steel fence is a major task. The 3-Fully Attack & Search Malinois w/ secure access to enter / exit the outside will be the next line of defense! If they are crafted enough to bypass them, then able to breach the not your average security/ surveillance system, they hit the diversions / distractions. Hope this gives you some ideas Bud. GOD Bless!

2022-12-26 00:18:44 +0000 UTCSometimes, or in my case, MOST TIMES, you’re just dealt a shit sammich in the places that you are trying to protect, secure & defend. It sounds to me like you have already implemented some

2022-12-13 16:42:26 +0000 UTCSo was literally hoping to see this exact video but I have monkey wrench to throw in it cause it's what I'm facing. I have a center fed staircase to two adjoining rooms with both having no closable doorways. You'd be able to see me descending especially my legs. I could turn lights off and keep it dark, but they have lights they could turn on just as easily. I wouldn't worry about it but I have a sister in law that likes to sleep on the couch downstairs. So sadly I'd have to push it rather then holding the staircase. Also I'm restricted currently to full size AR and a pistol, wife is taught to keep the shotgun in the master and watch the door with a password to enter unless I'm not home cause Iwork 24hr shifts as a firefighter. She's a deputy and comfortable with weapons.

2022-12-02 15:26:49 +0000 UTCI practice clearing my whole house once a week with my wife. She hides somewhere in the house with a nerf gun and I have to clear the whole house without getting shot. Different place every time helps us not get in any routines.

2022-11-16 20:23:55 +0000 UTCEVERYONE should practice clearing their own home from their preferred commonly used main point of entry and from their place of sleep... Shawn confirms repeatedly what a "shit sandwich" one man room clearing can be, but if the unthinkable happens... having trained will make the difference. Great vid!

2022-09-20 15:50:27 +0000 UTCLesson of this video dont put yourself in a "gagglefuck" (lmao) I cant stop laughing. Great info here as sometimes these types training videos are set up to be easy and clean. The fact that the area wasnt prepared for a demonstration I believe we got a better understanding of clearing and general situational awareness. Great content THANKS!
