Double Action Dry Fire Exercise
Added 2021-09-21 23:13:10 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
Here's a video on a dry fire exercise that you can do when ammo is low or price prohibitive. Adding movement can help acclimate yourself to your home defense environment.
Thank you everyone who commented on the last post, Sonny is doing well!
Excited to go live and talk with Tier III tomorrow night.
Cheers

2022-01-17 21:08:19 +0000 UTCGreat drill. I’ve been using .43 cal paintball pistol (Walther PPQ) single action…but Co2 blow back … not real steel recoil obviously, but there’s enough slide movement to improve muscle memory and stay on a target….. not recommended inside the house… lol

2021-09-27 22:33:15 +0000 UTCDA is still cool but requires more training for most.

2021-09-27 21:29:42 +0000 UTCThat’s my favorite pistol to carry. Any recommendations on how to grip the p220 that doesn’t engage the slide stop

2021-09-24 01:26:35 +0000 UTCA thought for those with multiple firearms (revolvers excluded). Run the same trigger setup in everything. If you put the -2 connector on your Glock - do it on all of them. Make all your "I would use this to defend myself" guns with the same trigger. If you can't do the same trigger, at least keep it to the same type and approximate pull (single stage,2 stage etc.) For example: the P320 was giving me shit. I couldn't block the lack of a trigger tongue safety out. So I swapped them out with triggers that mimic the Glock. The little things add up to make a big difference in confidence which translates to accuracy and speed. With the exception of the M9, all my hammer fired guns have about the same pull. I had to modify a HK to get the reset to match all the other ones. But dry firing it showed me I wasn't letting off enough to reset it. Just my thoughts and observations

2021-09-23 07:34:56 +0000 UTCI think this actually might be your best drill yet. DA/SA will show you in a hurry where you're breaking down. I hate the M9 but I've been dry firing the fuck out of it because of the amplifying trigger pull.

2021-09-23 07:27:12 +0000 UTCthere's a fella on eBay that sells brass dummy rounds. they aren't that pricey and they add to the realism of malfunctions as well as dropping the slide. Feels more like the real thing.

2021-09-23 07:23:40 +0000 UTCThanks for the drill Shawn! Gives me new shit to work on with my bedside HK 45. Keep them coming!

2021-09-22 16:54:02 +0000 UTCThanks Shawn! Man I still love the DAs, P365 took over as EDC but range time with a DA is still fun.
