How Much Weight Should You Be Able To Carry?

Hello Tier II and III,

Got a request from a Patron that I think is worth sharing with the community.  Here's a more elaborate answer.

This one's for you Kaven ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป (More elaborate answer).

Not more than you can carry. I know it is a freaking dumb answer but you have to take into consideration your own physical ability. Say you're trying to carry someone out of chaos or an intense situation who is injured, if you simply cannot carry the person you are going to risk the life of that person and yourself. You wouldn't jump in a pull to save someone if you cannot swim.

Timothy Bruewer

Absolutely. Good to keep that cardio up and be used to carrying gear.

Shawn

Even a 25lb vest is a game changer.

Jason Edwards

Being in shape is always a good investment. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป

Shawn

I bought a 40lb training vest for cardio, push-ups, and some other exercises and it's one of the best investments I've made in terms of exercise equipment and thinking about an 80lb.

Jason Nichols

Never hurts being prepared physically too. Helps the mind ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป.

Shawn

I think it depends. It you Train to carry 20lb a mile then donโ€™t expect to carry 20 lb two miles. You get out what you put in !!

Bobby Barron

๐Ÿ˜‚ All good!

Shawn

Alpacas! Sheep next ๐Ÿคฃ.

Shawn

Got to keep that balance in life ๐Ÿคฃ.

Shawn

๐Ÿคฃ I like it!

Shawn

BTW, at 72, my winter coat is feeling heavy! Not expecting recruiting calls from BUD/S any time soon.

Jim P.

"Train Smartly." I like that. BTW, are those sheep I hear in the background? Are they calling for you, Shawn? Too much time in the mountains, Bro!

Jim P.

This post after the one about gummy bears. Hmm...

John Fitzgerald

Here in East Tn if we need to carry more weight we just eat more cornbread ๐Ÿ˜‚

Chris Leonard

Right on man! Good questions.

Shawn

Good to just shake the gear out once in a while ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป.

Shawn

Thanks! That adds a good perspective to look at for training

Kaven Martinez

Well I don't do my training for entering the military to old for that now but I do every once in a while do throw my weighted vest of 20lbs on and do at least a mile run so that I know I will be able to run with my armor and firearms if needed to be. Plus I am overweight and trying to fix that but this dad bod doesn't want to give
