Pistol Fundamentals: Sight Picture
Added 2020-07-14 01:12:46 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
In this video I cover sight alignment and sight picture. This will help you become a more proficient shooter.
Two things I want you to take away:
-Equal height. Equal light.
-Front sight focus.

Hey Shawn, going through your tac videos. Iβm new to shooting pistols. Mine has an optic that co-witnesses with the front sight. Should my focus then still be on the front sight, or the optic? Thank you, helpful videos.

2021-12-10 00:41:03 +0000 UTCI'm a "new - old" shooter. Viewed a number of videos on YT from many very good guys but this was the simplest explanation and easiest way to remember - at least for me. Tried this at the range today. Though my shooting still needs a lot of work, I was definitely getting tighter groups. Thanks for the tips Shawn.

2021-12-10 00:22:29 +0000 UTCsuper late to comment just joined but what if I am cross eyed dominant? I typically close one eye and focus on the sight should I switch something up?

2021-11-17 09:40:20 +0000 UTCBoth eyes open. Keeps peripheral vision active.

2020-09-21 17:30:23 +0000 UTCGreat video!! ! You keep it simple and basic, you donβt decorate it with a bunch of useless bs, I like that! Question, but whatβs the best way to keep sight picture when moving, I know it has to do with foot work, but whatβs the ideal way of doing it so you stay on target?

2020-08-01 08:16:02 +0000 UTCHi Brian, all depends on your setup but you'll want to change the riser on your optic not the irons. If you want the sights to be dead on with the dot you want absolute co-witness. If you want the sights to be below the dot you want 1/3.

2020-08-01 08:15:15 +0000 UTCThanks for all the tips. Iβm pretty green with pistols but this series so far has given me a lot of confidence. Focusing on that front sight has helped me get my groupings better ty. Still not perfect but I hit inside the silhouette with every round @ 10 yards now. Doesnβt sound great im sure to most of you guys but this is maybe my 4th week shooting pistols

2020-07-31 17:59:21 +0000 UTCQuestion about sight alignment on AR15; I have a Holosun reflex sight, and fixed sights front and rear. Are all sights supposed to be a standard height above the rail? Or would I need to raise them to fit my eyesight when I put my cheek to the cheek weld?

2020-07-28 03:41:21 +0000 UTCAnother tip for tightening groups. Ride that reset. Might make a follow up on this.

2020-07-28 03:39:47 +0000 UTCThank you again! I passed but still have a lot more practice to do. Just like you said in the video my groupings were more scattered than I hoped for. Probably just needing more reps on all the fundamentals and also getting used to a timer. But I did feel more confident watching this series over and over along with dry firing. Again thank you for the videos!
