25 Yard Drill Follow Up
Added 2020-06-03 21:58:12 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
I hope all of you are safe and in good health!
Here is a follow up on the 25 yard drill. This will help you with trigger control and ultimately smooth out you steps from draw to fire. Practicing timing this way will also help you hit targets on demand and control throttle.
More fundamentals on the way and getting everything in place for the Shawn Ryan Show starting back up.
Lot's of content coming this month!
Cheers.

2020-10-10 03:08:18 +0000 UTCAs always, good stuff brother. Love the QUALITY OVER QUANTITY approach you always display. To everyone who actually puts the time and effort into being a better shooter, you can never learn enough. I've been shooting for years and I can attest to what Shawn is saying, hell I'm still learning. Before I showed up at NSW years ago, I wasn't the best shot and it lit a fire under my ass to the point of almost obsession. I ran drills over and over again. I was actually banned from one range due to my stubbornness and passion to become a better shooter. I would push myself further and further. I went chasing that demon to find out where it lived, so to speak. It's all about the three P's. PASSION. PATIENCE. PERSEVERANCE. Shawn, I'm sorry to hear about your hen.

2020-10-07 22:47:48 +0000 UTCStarting to get this drill dialed in pretty good, today’s best time was 2.35 with .60 split. Mostly in the 2.8-3.2 area but definitely coming around. Good shot placement too. Of course had some misses but not very many. Definitely improved since the first time I tried this drill. Thanks man

2020-06-17 04:12:30 +0000 UTCHey man, I know you’ve got a full plate & a small army of folks picking your brain. Would be awesome to see a short video discussing the construction of your range backstop/berm. Even a link to a few photos showing various angles, etc. would be great. Thanks for all you do... looking forward to the SRS drop!

2020-06-13 05:09:02 +0000 UTCGreat video, thanks a million! No luck for 4 seconds yet, the closest was 3.8 and 4.2, but I will keep working on it.

2020-06-06 01:08:42 +0000 UTCIt's good to know and really helps isolate habits 👊🏻.

2020-06-05 03:32:11 +0000 UTCI hear that! This will also help with shooting accurately on command.

2020-06-05 03:27:17 +0000 UTCDA/SA transition is something that deserves isolated practice if you are using that type of action. I would just focus on shooting double action first shot then single action follow up shot. Decock, and repeat, again and again until that transition becomes natural. Focus more on accuracy than time. This is another reason so many professionals have switched to striker fired actions. One trigger pull.

2020-06-04 19:46:37 +0000 UTCLooks like I’m going to have to stock up on more training ammo. This is good advice. My type A personality always wants me to go as fast as possible, so it’s nice to remind myself to slow down and go through the motions first, then increase speed.

2020-06-04 01:42:04 +0000 UTCShawn, Would you have any extra tips for someone using a Double to single action pistol? I've been training with a Sig P226 for quite a while and I'm having trouble staying center mass with the first round at 25 Yards.
