Can’t wait to get home and watch this with my sig! Thank you

michelle

Thanks Rick! Keep at it.

Shawn

Thanks for this. Ive been doing this mostly correct. New learnings: 1. I’ve probably gripped too strongly. Firm handshake is a good analogy. 2. 45 degree offhand..I’ll start practicing this. Love these vids.

Rick

I’m running a sig p320 so I have a decent amount of space to get right up on the slide

Hey Shawn, I just joined. What do you think about the off hand when you grip and get the thumbs pointed to put the pointer finger over the front of the trigger guard on the jimping instead of putting underneath? So the middle finger is slid all the way up underneath the trigger guard and pointer out front?

It is possible that those two models don't fit you personally. If that's the case, I'd probably suggest a compact like the G19 size.

Any advice on this grip on smaller guns, like Sig P365 or Glock 43? The issue I'm trying to resolve is my right hand fingers (right hand grip) are wrapping so far around the grip that there's no real estate left for the heel of my left hand to make contact with the grip, so I'm not getting that locked in feeling with my left hand. It seems like it's really more about pressing against my finger tips and nothing from my left hand is really set on the left side of the grip. Any advice or tips on that grip for smaller EDC guns? Or just say F it and carry the larger gun? :)

SS

Thank you brother. That means a lot to read stuff like that. I really appreciate the comment. Cheers 🍻

The information and peace of mind I got from this video alone is worth the monthly price of admission. I've been working on proper grip but I'm getting minor bites from my gen 3 glock 23 and was trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong and trying to make minor adjustments to avoid it. I've heard all kinds of recommendations down to adding an aftermarket beavertail to the backstrap. But my goal is to be proficient with most pistols I pick up, an idea I'm pretty sure I heard on one of your YouTube videos and really appreciated. It's relief to hear someone who knows their shit say that's normal. Keep up the great content man. You're crushing it.

It's likely shot anticipation. Check out this one, it should help. Welcome to VE Patreon 👊🏻. https://www.patreon.com/posts/38543560

Shawn, Ive been a fan for a while now, Youtube showed me how much I needed to learn and now I subscribe here. My grip seems right. I have my hands exactly the way they should be, but I keep throwing rounds off to the lower left. Ive tried my Rugers and the same thing, so its me not the gun. Im shooting a Glock 17. I think I figured out my problem. My thumbs are down on the frame of the weapon, but yours are up further up on the slide. My question is...how much pressure should I have on the slide with my thumbs? Not to sound like a wuss but I think Im subconciously afraid of the slide 'biting' as it moves? If your thumbs are just supposed to be resting then thats cool. I need to dry fire and do the empty 9mm casing that you taught me (anticipating), but I want to practice right and not wrong.

This is very helpful. I am practicing this now in my basement with an empty gun to get use to the grip. I am looking forward to going to the range to test this out more

Excellent info, appreciated!

This will be the focus of the next fundamentals video 👊🏻.

Shawn

Do you lock both arms straight? Or is one relaxed, and if so, which arm? Thanks!

Phillip
