April 2022 Sketches 6 - Hayner (Kingdom Hearts)

Here's a picture featuring Hayner from the Kingdom Hearts series. The idea was suggested by Allen U.

"Hayner really wants to win the upcoming Struggle tournament this time and has been training super hard. After an intense practice session, on his way home he finds a(n Orichalcum) ring laying about on the ground that just happens to be where one of the Seven Wonders of Twilight Town used to be.

Since it looks kind of like an accessory Sora would buy at the Moogle shop to make himself stronger to fight the heartless, surely it would help him in the Struggle battles. So he keeps it for good luck, calling it the Eight Wonder. Only later when he’s actually wearing it during a practice battle, he realizes that every time he collects an opponent’s orbs he starts to grow bigger!  

So now Hayner has doubled the amount of practice battles for his training and by the time the tournament comes by, he’s twice the size of everybody else competing. This leads to total domination every time with Hayner getting larger and larger as he wins and climbs up the tourney ladder, with the final championship battle with Setzer being as easy a flick of the finger. Now that Hayner is the winner, everyone is marveled by his enormous size and cheers for Hayner as he’s awarded the Struggle trophy and champion belt, with Roxas, Pence, and Olette cheering the loudest. Since it’s pretty small for his new size, Hayner figured the champion belt would look nice as another ring to wear, although it’s still not as cool as his Eighth Wonder ring!"

Again, I think the description works really nicely as a story on its own. ^^

So here's Hayner, all powered up from training and collecting many Struggle Orbs from previous matches, ready to face his next opponent, Seifer! Seifer was always known to be unbeatable, and always beat Hayner whenever the two got to fight each other...but something tells me that this battle is going to end up differently~
